Quotes of the Day – Ratnasiri Wickramanayake

We view the recent protests, hunger strikes and other such nonsense by Tamil film stars and other sections in Tamil Nadu on behalf of the Tamils in Sri Lanka as nothing more than a veiled effort and a ruse to give the terrorist outfit LTTE time to recoup their strength after their severe battering by the Sri Lankan army.

In this context, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake’s comments before the country’s Parliament on November 4 are worthy of reproduction:

If the people of India remember their past, they would feel the pressure exerted by LTTE terrorism. The LTTE killed a great Indian leader [former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi]. We believe any Indian citizen with feelings will not pardon the LTTE.

[C]ertain pro-LTTE elements in South India have engaged in various activities to boost the image of the LTTE. We think these are moves engaged in by certain elements due to a lack of understanding.

We are waiting to hear of large-scale protests in Tamil Nadu by Rajinikanth et al seeking the capture of LTTE leader Prabhakaran.

But then that would require some spine, wouldn’t it.

Do they really know what exactly is going on Sri Lanka??. What they’re seeing is not what exactly is meant. There are so many connectors plugged into the Sri Lankan base that no one really does know exactly how things turn out at the every minute of the conflict. It’s like all of them are just floating in the sea after a big storm. They see the shore but they cannot reach it because of the high tide forcing against them.

These Rajini and the other Kollywood stars are just like a passing clouds. You might think it’s going to rain but it never rains. No sensible person with a human heart will stand idly by when there’s an injustice being done to innocent people. Just remember LTTE does not even by an iota belongs to this category of INNOCENTS.

If Rajini and the clowns in the Kollywood do accept that the LTTE is also responsible for many murders and killings of innocent defenceless people in the remote villages and by bomb blasts in the cities and elsewhere, then we know that these people have some balance in seeing the whole case of LTTE. But, to everybody’s amazement they don’t talk about or even mention anywhere about the murders and killings of innocents people.

Why? Only LTTE terrorists are humans and only they know what human suffering is? What about the innumerous people who lost their sons and daughters and even babies chopped with machetes and knives. Are they not people? or Human beings?

His movies antics are good to fool the bunch of zombies who switch off their humanly functioning brains when they enter the cinema hall to watch their movies (The Brainless Twits). He could talk about injustice and cruelty on the screen only. When it comes to the real life, the drama is different. He commits injustice by favouring a murderous group, the LTTE.

In a theatre of war, nobody comes with guitar and finger wagging dialogues to fight the opponent. They cannot be any sage or saint as they go to war to destroy their opponents. They don’t give life but take life to live their ambitious lives.

Rajniknath, in my opinion is testing his credibilities to take the first step into politics. He’s just testing his guns. What is the best venue to appease the crowd than what is offered by the tigers(LTTE) now. He cannot enter the scene as long as Karunanidhi is living. So, he has wait until the aging power hungry politician’s natural invitation to the heavens come.

I would like to quote some of the important things said by the Israeli Peace activist Uri Avnery on matters pertaining to Israel/Palestinian problem in many of his articles, which appeared in Al Jazeera.com magazines:

    On Israeli policies:
I remember once, when he passed by,
a thought crossing my mind: How can such intelligent people conduct such a foolish policy?

Leaders who fail to take care of their physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs are headed for disaster.

as long as there is a circle of revenge,
    there shall be increased hostilities.
You must forgive and make peace with your opposition

    To Rajini:
Think better, and use your God given brain in the proper manner according to your conscience based on real facts not on hearsay.

    Please check this article:
    http://www.dailynews.lk/2008/11/06/news22.asp

According to the report therein, Europe is realising its mistake of their overlooking the atrocities committed by the LTTE.

Now, that the support of Europe for the LTTE sympathisers is fading and also witnessing the punitive measures taken by these authorities who have opened their doors to the LTTE affiliates who came to these countries as refugees as a kind gesture, the LTTE is turning towards the next pawns in the Tamill Nadu.

The LTTE sympathisers for decades used the benefit provided by these European govts. and have conducted fundraising and propaganda activities to finance the separatist war by maiming innocent people.

Time is taking its natural course…

“Shuaib : His movies antics are good to fool the bunch of zombies who switch off their humanly functioning brains when they enter the cinema hall to watch their movies (The Brainless Twits).”

perfect words shuaib… recently he called upon his fans and told that , he would come to politics once the god has given permission…. once the permission is got there is no stopping him.. All these stunts are done in order to satisfy the Enthiran marketting team… these guys (Rajni fans) is truly meatheads to the core… even if Rajni comes to politics, am sure he wont even get the reception Vijayakanth got… he makes these stunts just for filling his pockets…

The LTTE stunt was also made just to wash the hatred of tamils after his kuselen saving apology to Kannadigas…

end of the day.. all these sobs are sailing their boats on the blood of SL civilians…

    Rajini

Is a different person Onscreen vs offscreen.

All the Film stars like Sarathkumar, V.Kanth have political factors to start this Fast, AFAIK these are just political stunts, Srilankan government nor the Central government would take Tamilians seriously if they continue this kind of approach.

Rajinikanth would have faced the same situation Vijaykanth is facing. As long as DMK prevails. they would trouble everyone who tries to enter politics.

People should stop believing these corrupt politicians and Politics should not enter Tamil Film Industry

“Joe:he would come to politics once the god has given permission…. once the permission is got there is no stopping him”

    Joe,
This god given permission is none other than the exit of Karunanidhi. You know, the bad thing about the democracies in Asia is that politicians remain in power for too long. Some even until their death due to the provisions in their flawed constitutions.

BTW, have you heard of a HongKong movie by the title”Enter the Dragon & Exit the Tiger”? It was a 80’s kungfu movie. Rajini’s entry to politics will be something similar to this title.

Rajini is the dotted Dragon (tidragon).

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Offtopic – Many years back, Rajini acted in an English movie called Bloodstone…we’ve tried hard to get the movie but so far our efforts have come to naught.

I can remember seeing this movie. Even in this movie he acted in the same “Moondru Mugam” style.

It was just another flop I think. I think I saw the VCD in the Rental Shop I normally visit. I will have to check once again.

This is a very interesting article that discusses about how an OBAMA could emerge in Sri Lankan politics transcending the racial religious affinities.

    It was by D.B.S. Jeyaraj
