R.I.P. Michael Jackson

Rock in Peace, Michael.

Like tens of millions the world over, we grew up listening to Billie Jean and Beat it from Michael Jackson’s famous album Thriller.

Michael was not merely a great singer. He was also a wonderful dancer.

Who, having seen it once, can ever forget Michael’s amazing moonwalk dance in Motown 25.

Today, we feel deeply saddened that the Michael Jackson we so loved to watch and listen to passed away in Los Angeles a few hours back.

The cause of death is reported to be cardiac arrest.

Michael was 50.

Oh, just came to know about it through my primary news source.. SI.. I thought Farah’s death was the big news today.. this one is much bigger. Not sad. He probably is relieved.. too much pain he had to endure.. due to improper wiring.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

One of the great mysteries of life is what really happened with the children (Michael was, of course, acquitted of the charges).

A million years ago when we were growing up in India, Farah Fawcett was the only Hollywood actress whose name we knew (besides Liz Taylor, of course). We think Farah was married to Lee Majors then.

    I read this on CNN..

Some of the shows, initially scheduled to begin in July, were eventually postponed until 2010

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

True but they were still scheduled to start July 13 (original date – July 8).

The ones that were pushed to March 2010 were those originally set for July 10-14.

Man, I woke up today to listen to this SHOCKING NEWS. I’m deeply, deeply sad. I have never seen such a fine dancer and a musician would ever come again during our lifetime. As SI said, we too grew up seeing him performing to our amazement. I was actually looking forward to his upcoming farewell show, if not wishing him all the success for his comeback.

He was a self made man, promoted by the media, loved by all, hated by few, betrayed by the most trusted few, forsaken by the vultures who made money on him, and led him to his death by the disappointments that caused him to rely on the drugs he thought would save his from his troubles.

Michael, we love you. May you live in peace – in your new journey in the other phase of life’s cycle.

    Nice eulogy.

Michael Jackson wasn’t a legend but a pedophile, period.

Definition no. 28 on Michael Jackson at urbandictionary.com is apt. He was, “Mega-star who was found not guilty of molesting children”.

One can possibly argue to segregate the work of an artist from his personal life. I am not glorifying the Indian culture here (for I am not a great fan of it). The first poet of India was a dacoit who met a sage. Word of wisdom changed him and he went on to write, Ramayanan. His name was Valmiki.

Selling over 750 mio is an achievement, by any standards. But, this pedophile should have died long ago.

There are two crimes which I consider as most heinous. It is genocide and pedophilia. In both the cases the victim are vulnerable and if they are left to survive they never survive because they just can’t. Watch the movie ‘Bad Education’ [La mala educacion] from the master Pedro Almodovar.

I wish I had a gun, a bullet, a free murder and had the money to buy a ticket when he came to India.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. The U.S. courts have declared MJ innocent.

In a highly materialist culture like ours, people sometimes make wild accusations to extort money from the rich and famous.

Sociologists would likely describe it as Weapons of the poor or not-so-rich.

Bottom line, it’s better to have an open mind unless there’s conclusive evidence to the contrary. That said, it’s hard to get conclusive evidence in these cases.

    2. Added La Mala Educación to our Netflix queue.

No doubt he is a great artist but 2+ years back whole media was painting him as most bad guy but now everyone in media is mourning!

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Much of the media here is comprised of jealous nincompoops.

He who can does, he who cannot writes. 😉

Even Billy Mays (Discovery is running a “Pitchmen” marathon) seems to be getting more coverage than Farah.. poor old girl.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

In the 1990s, one of the biggest ‘pitchers’ was Bob Villa.
