Quote of the Day – Bal Thackeray on Michael Jackson

[Michael] Jackson is a great artist, and we must accept him as an artist. His movements are terrific. Not many people can dance that way. You will end up breaking your bones…And, well what is culture? He represents certain values in America, which India should not have any qualms in accepting. We would like to accept that part of America that is represented by Jackson.

– Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray in 1996 during Michael Jackson’s visit to India, Source: DNA

You can probably go watch Transformers.. Watching MF (not not that MF.. I was talking about Megan Fox) may help you forget a little bit about MJ. RT has given it 21%! So it may be the perfect Hollywood movie for you to tear apart and prove to your detractors that you don’t bash Bollywood movies alone.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Just back from New York (4:30 PM ET).

What places are worth going to in DC? I have mailed Burr to get us appointments for the White House.. Is Penthouse.. err.. Pentagon worth visiting? I guess it depends on individual preferences.. let me put it this way.. which places did you like most in DC.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Apart from the White House, we’ve been to Arlington Memorial (cemetery, JFK Memorial, Robert E.Lee’s house, Tomb of Unknown Soldier), Smithsonian Museums (notice the plural here), Holocaust Museum (be careful you never know which 88-year-old White supremacist lunatic you’ll find lurking there with a gun these days), Newseum, National Portrait Gallery, Library of Congress…Never been to Pentagon.

    According to Wiki:

Abraham’s father is a Malayali architect. His mother, Phiroza Irani, is part of Mumbai’s Parsi community. Abraham’s Parsi name is “Farhan” to which his father, being a Syrian Christian, added “Abraham” as a respect for the Bible and named him “John“. He has one younger brother, Alan. He is an Indian Christian.

So, what do you have in common with John Abraham?

Thackeray said: “And, well what is culture? He represents certain values in America, which India should not have any qualms in accepting.”

Waah!! If c0ck-boy has a man-crush, then every thing is legit and there are no “qualms in accepting” his man-crush, but Ram/Vishnu/Shiva/Brahma/Hanuman/Sita forbid should a couple celebrate Valentine’s Day in some restaurant or some poor sod enjoy a pint in a pub.

    Shameless b******!

now SI is quoting it out of context …..Shiv Sena had organised a MJ concernt as a part of fund raising drive ..and he was asked certain questions …this was a response to that ….

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Nothing out of context. Just a quote to prove that Michael Jackson had admirers/fans from all walks of life and from all geographies.
