Guess what the mail-man brought us today?
Agneepath.
Yes, we got this Amitabh Bachchan, Madhavi, Mithun Chakraborty film sooner than anticipated.
Released in 1990, Agneepath has been hailed as one of the best movies from the Amitabh Bachchan stable.
Some SI readers aver that Agneepath is even better than Deewar, which we rewatched recently.
Unlike Deewar, we haven’t watched Agneepath before.

Folks, Agneepath is not a bad movie.
Au contraire, it’s a nauseatingly sick, pathetic piece of shit.
To think that Amitabh Bachchan won the National Award in India for this vile trash speaks volumes about the pitiful standards in Mera Bharat Mahaan.
The movie starts off fairly decently in a small coastal village Mandwa with an idealistic school teacher Masterji (Aloknath) doing his best to reform the village of the vices of liquor, prostitution and the like.
But within about 20 minutes or so, Masterji is dispatched to his maker, thanks to the gangster Kancha Cheema, played by Danny Denzongpa.
And the movie quickly gets into free fall, descending into a horrendous nightmare. Continue reading »
