Quote of the Day – Philip of Macedonia

O my son, look thee out a kingdom equal to and worthy of thyself, for Macedonia is too little for thee.
– A tearful Philip to his son Alexander after the young man subdued the wild horse Bucephalus, cited in Plutarch’s Lives (See Alexander, p.805)

In other news, Obama’s new slogan should be “No he can’t.”

No he can’t go to Copenhagen to get the Olympics for Chicago. No he can’t come to New Jersey multiple times to get the election for Corzine. No he can’t close Gitmo or force through a healthcare bill by the end of the year.

    No he can’t.

    1. To all SI reader who’ve ever wondered what the fancy word schadenfreude means, read the above comment again.

This arch-disciple of Marquis de Sade won’t let us grieve in peace after our grievous losses in NJ and VA.

Thank God for the sane souls in upstate New York.

    2. And as if the NJ and VA losses weren’t bad enough, rumor has it that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid won’t bring the Healthcare Bill to the floor this year.

We think he doesn’t have the votes. Yes, we knew there had to be a reason for the ‘dog’ in all those Bluedog Democrats.

Our cup of woes overfloweth. 🙁
