Watching Avatar – Waiting to be Shocked & Awed

Alas, we’re not as lucky as all ye folks in India.

No Tamil Avataram, Telugu Avatarudu or the Hindi Avtar for us in the states. 😉

Just plain, simple Avatar.

We’re already in the theater waiting for the movie (3D version) to start.

Surprise. There were no long lines for the 12:01AM show here on the East Coast. And we thought we were smart desis for buying the tickets two days back. 😉

Not many inside the hall too. About 40 people in the hall.

About 10 minutes to go. We’re going to go and get some popcorn.

Waiting to be shocked and awed now.

We went for the midnight show of Avatar.

No, that clown Vijay is not worth driving 250 miles (nearest crappy Anil Ambani theater). Truth be said, he’s not worth driving even 5 miles.

Maybe if we find a sponsor for the movie, we might consider watching and reviewing it. 😉

I am sorry, I am sure you weren’t shocked nor awed by AVATAR. It is just a very good Sci-Fi film, but has nothing, apart from the countless special effects, to be considered as a path-breaking film nor the greatest.

Not sure if you would like it, don’t care either.

Found it very visually compelling, which obviously is very important for a movie.

What’s the average seating capacity of a U.S Cinema hall? :O

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

About 225 for the theater we went to.

But some mainstream American multiplexes in New Jersey that screen Bollywood movies are smaller (less than 100).

Anil Ambani’s old, crappy theaters are bigger but provide lousy service. Not worth watching a movie in his theater unless you have no choice. Strongly recommend against it.
