Incredible India 38: Solve this Puzzle 14+19-0=$21+6

Bet you schmucks can’t solve this complex equation 14+19-0=$21+6.

You can’t, right?

OK, here’s the answer.

It means that if a top Indian cop molests a 14-year-old girl it takes 19-years for the court’s verdict to come and then the punishment is a pittance $21 fine and a mere 6 months in jail.

What about the ‘0‘ in the equation?

Ah, so you want to know about the ‘0‘ in the above equation.

The zero is for the girl who committed suicide three years after the molestation following intense harassment and pressure on her family to withdraw the case.

Here’s an excerpt of the story in DNA.

Nineteen years after molesting a budding tennis player on August 12, 1990, and driving her to suicide, former Haryana director general of police (DGP) SPS Rathore not only got away lightly on Monday, when a CBI court sentenced him to six months in prison, but also was a free bird again as the court granted him bail immediately after pronouncing the sentence.

Rathore, then inspector general of police and president of Haryana Lawn Tennis Association, was convicted of molesting 14-year-old Ruchika Girotra, who, unable to bear the mental harassment that followed and pressure on her family to withdraw the case, drank a poisonous substance to end her life three years later, in 1993.

I suspect foul play in that girl’s death too.. hard to believe that a 16/17 year old would take such an extreme decision..

    Disgusting P.o.S. Rathore.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

You write above: I suspect foul play in that girl’s death too..

Possible, because the cop was already an Inspector General of Police then. A fairly powerful position in the Indian police hierarchy.

India needs some vigilante action on these a-holes.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

To be a Charles ‘Death Wish’ Bronson, you need to have cojones.

Beneath all that bravado, most Indians are pussies.

@SI: – Beneath all that bravado, most Indians are pussies.
    Just keep your mouth shut.
I have got records of such cases which will prove that Americans are also pussies.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

We are not talking about Americans now, kiddo. We’ll address them on some later day.

Let’s focus on India for the moment. Indians throughout history keep getting buggered.

If it’s not the Muslim invaders (Genghiz Khan, Mohd Ghori, Ghazni, Mughals or Nadir Shah), it’s the British or the Pakistanis or Chinese or Bangladeshis or Sri Lankans.

Just you watch, one of these days tiny Bhutan will whip your bottom.

Our hypothesis is that it has to do with the Hindu culture, which we think is very effeminate, pussy-ish and cowardly.

If rape increases in India you pinpoint Indians.
But you dont realise it is all because of Westernised culture.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    Ha ha ha.

By your warped logic, if an Indian father rapes his daughter, if foreign tourists are raped in India or if an Indian cop molests a young Indian girl, then the Americans (remember, you said the West) are to be blamed, eh?

Whatever intoxicant you are high on, we’d like some of that please.

@SI: ….it has to do with the Hindu culture..
Thats a first. Effeminate? I’ve heard the double-crosser, coward stuff before.
Seriously, isn’t the image more like savages? Half-naked, living in woods, tricksters with snake-pipes…
Now objectively, us “southerners” have no martial heritage since 5 generations or something, some say. Contrast that with Marathas or Rajputs. From what I’ve heard they are no cowards hence all the “trouble” (secessionist tendencies) in those regions.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

While we’re not unfamiliar with this North-South argument on the martial culture…of north being more exposed to invaders compared to South Indians et al, we also believe there is a pan-Indian culture and identity that cuts across geographical boundaries. This pan-Indian culture is very pansy-ish, effeminate and so reluctant to pick up the gauntlet….that it makes Indians easy prey to attackers from overseas and the few bullies/rogues from within.

A nation’s future prospects (remember that drivel of Shining India, Mera Bharat Mahaan et al) can’t be visualized merely by economic capital (8% growth rate, the surge in call centers or a few Infosys, Wipro, Biocon, TCS…) but also by social capital (respect for law, concern for fellow human beings, a willingness to adopt the Live and Let Live attitude, i.e. embrace diversity, courage and unity in the face of adversity, willingness to take bold measures for the common good et al). In all of the social capital measures, India falls woefully short that all these 8% economic growth, software/biotech boom, Delhi/Kolkata Metro et al are bound to be ephemeral/have little impact on the wider society.

Too late and too little, even I was shocked when I read the report in paper yesterday.

The Retired DGP certainly deserved a prison sentence of more than 7 years at least for his act and he’s just given a 6-months jail sentence;which too I doubt, whether it will be completed. 🙁

And it is sad that the parents of the dead girl too didn’t support her in the fight for her justice.

If it goes on like this, the number of such criminal acts will only go on the rise,as you see you won’t get punished much! 🙁

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Just another case of justice delayed and denied in India.
