U.S. Unemployment 10%, Yet More Coolies Coming

Who cares if the U.S. unemployment rate is a horrific 10%?

Who cares if millions of our countrymen (Americans) are suffering?

Who cares if millions of Americans are homeless?

Who cares if millions of Americans now depend on soup kitchens for food?

Who cares? Who cares?

Folks, let’s bring in more coolies from India to American shores, to take American jobs and bury the American deeper into the ground.

Coolie Visa Cap Reached
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services said the other day it’d received sufficient H-1B petitions to reach the statutory quota of 65,000 for fiscal year (FY) 2010. The agency has also received over 20,000 H-1B petitions filed on behalf of persons exempt from the cap under the “advanced degree” exemption.

Just in case you think the total of 85,000 is not a big number, petitions filed on behalf of current H-1B workers who have been counted previously against the cap will not be counted towards the FY 2010 H-1B cap.

As all but the schmucks know, India is the major beneficiary of the H-1B Visas that allow computer programmers, scientists or engineers to work in the U.S.

By the way, USCIS has notified the public that Dec. 21, 2009 is the “final receipt date” for new H-1B specialty occupation petitions requesting an employment start date in FY 2010.

Wipro, Infosys, IBM India, Patni, Microsoft, Intel, Larsen & Toubro Infotech, Cognizant, Mphasis and Satyam are some of the major users of the H1B Visas.

God Bless America.

    Exact numbers here – http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/news-by-industry/services/travel/visa-power/Wipro-tops-list-of-H-1B-visa-professionals-in-2009/articleshow/5415615.cms

It says Satyam has 219 H1-B petitions. I know many of my friends in Satyam ( i am ex-satyamite) who have got H1-B but still in India. Some people just file H1-B, stay in India and wait for the market to go up.

On a different note… my close friend got deported from New York last week. He worked for a Fortune500 in Omaha and went to India for h1-b stamping. While he was back, he was questioned by the officers at port of entry. They called the office and asked justifications for recruiting him as against to a local candidate. The officers were not convinced and they deported him. Sad!

So it is not easy for h1-b’s too.

    1. Even if we go by your argument and assume that 20% of the 65,000 H1B Visa holders never come here that still leaves 52,000 new H1Bs coming to Amrika when there is 10% unemployment here.

    2. You write: Exact numbers here ….

The ET article you cite above refers to FY 2009 figures because the CIS folks are still processing the 2010 applications.

Kanna yaen ippadi katharuraa? (Brother why do you cry this much) – US politicians are elected by people and they will be doing what’s best for country (at least in theory). Just to gain footage, please don’t create some blog thinking that it will be sensational. Now you will ask what if we take India jobs to Srilanka – bro, if that’s a decision made by executives can we do any thing?

More so, stop acting like an American – you can never become one and you don’t have that gene (neither their low hanging Jean!!)

    1. You write above: you can never become one and you don’t have that gene (neither their low hanging Jean!!)

You seem well acquainted with the low-hanging fruits of American men. 😉

    2. You write: Just to gain footage, please don’t create some blog thinking that it will be sensational.

Just to gain footage? SI is the most unassuming, quiet and un-sensational blog you’ll probably come across.

10% unemployment here is not fiction nor is the Visa cap being reached recently a figment of our imagination.

It’s the disgusting greed of corporate chieftains supported by their political accomplices that’s making life miserable for a lot of Americans through bad policies like H1B when unemployment here is so high.

    3. You write: Now you will ask what if we take India jobs to Srilanka – bro, if that’s a decision made by executives can we do any thing?

Indians in India still have a lot of fire in them. You can certainly expect a fiery response. There Will be Blood.

Maybe low hanging fruits of ABCD (not sure if you are one BTW) – Always greedy that only you Indians (aliens) should survive in US and not others – “Live and Let Live”

10% unemployment is no fiction and H1B coolies getting in loads too not a fiction. But don’t complaint about greedy corporate executives – you blame them them because you cannot raise to that top level.

FULLY agree that Indians in India have lot of fire – Only truth SI has said in this section

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Sad. Instead of addressing the subject of immigration during high unemployment you’ve stooped to ad hominem attacks.
