T stands for Thesinghu, so his full name is Vijaya Thesinghu Rajendar.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

T could also stand for terrible, tragic, trashy, torment, traumatic and so forth. 🙁

VTR wants to thank you for abetting him in his quest for making this video go viral.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

No such thing as bad publicity, eh?

SI Said: “T could also stand for terrible, tragic, trashy, torment, traumatic and so forth.”

Say what you will about him, the man gets all sorts of kudos from me for not caring what the masses think about him or his movies. In fact, the guy delivered some massive hits in the past like “Uyir Ullai Varai Usha” and “Maithili Yennai Kadhali.” I agree his movies have predominantly been “bad” since, but IMO, they fall under the “so bad that they’re so good” category. In a regressive, sheep-mentality driven South Indian movie industry, where EVERYONE takes themselves way too seriously (for example, take Vijay and his “Bakery scandal”), he stands out as someone who makes people laugh unintentionally where the sheep-anointed “Best comedian in the universe,” like Vadivelu (yuck!) fail. The man’s got brass cojones and he isn’t stopping anytime soon.

    Viva ‘Kara’ T. Rajender!

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

True, the world would be very gray indeed without colorful characters like T.Rajender.

“I have been hitting the gym for the past few months to tune my body to fit into the role. I am the one who is competing with my elder son Silambarasan who is a top star now. And I will be the one who will be a competitor to my younger son Kuralarasan who will make his acting debut soon”. :-):-):-)

Was this fella present in Oru Thalai Ragam?

Watched it in Pondy long back. Can’t remember him in the film at all.

    • shiva84   March 5, 2011 at 7:27 am

He was the hero in Oru Thalai Ragam. Karadi introduced Amala in Mythili Ennai Kadhali

A wonderful song from that movie written and composed by karadi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nypvcy3u2PE

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

      1. We thought the guy who dies (in the train??) was the hero of Oru Thalai Ragam. But you may be right because it’s been decades since we watched the film.

BTW, the movie was filmed at AVC College in Mayavaram (now Mayiladuthurai).

      2. Nice song.

TR was successful in TN not becoz of his talent but just becoz of the racist feeling of tamilians and their false beliefs and misconceptions like : “All blacks are talented”; just like “All rich people are bad guys/All poor people are good guys”etc. Similar analogy could be ” All muslims are terrorists”.They have mistaken the west ideology of blacks revolution in the past century that talent should be recognized invariably whether he is black or white. Alas, they failed to recognize the rationale that non- talented people exist in blacks too. This is typical dravidian mentality.Every one knows for sure, talentwise ,TR is no Will smith of hollywood .Then, how would you attribute the success of TR?
How would you give rationality to the idiosyncratic/stubborn behavior of TR justifying his stand to play a hero even in this age with his mongrel like face. Now the question comes, would you appreciate this self proclaimed behavior of TR as exhibition of his self confidence/arrogance? For heaven’s sake dont argue that he has talent.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. You write: How would you give rationality to the idiosyncratic/stubborn behavior of TR justifying his stand to play a hero even in this age with his mongrel like face.

    Please, no insulting mongrels here.

SI is an animal-friendly blog. 😉

    2. You write: Now the question comes, would you appreciate this self proclaimed behavior of TR as exhibition of his self confidence/arrogance?

As for TR’s decision to play hero, comedian or villain, that’s his prerogative and, of course, his producer’s as well (since he/she is footing the bill).

Film stars are by nature exhibitionists and do not think like the average Joe. The urge to be in the limelight is so overpowering that rationality becomes irrelevant in the context.

The fault is in the inordinate love Tamils show for trashy movies.

Have you been following the Charlie Sheen story.

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

Only vaguely….we just know he’s in real trouble after badmouthing some TV executives and before that did something stupid.

The fella has had a history of trouble in recent years.
