Is there no end to this Tablet nonsense?

Apparently not.

A Consumer Electronics Show spokeswoman told PC Mag that 80 tablets would be on show at the annual event in Las Vegas that runs from January 6-9 this year.

Vizio and Asus are among the new players that have jumped into the Tablet fray that is currently dominated by the Apple iPad.

Global Tablet Forecast
And today market researcher Yankee Group put out a new report on Tablets forecasting that total global revenue from tablet devices like Apple’s iPad and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab will rise from $16 billion in 2010 to $46 billion in 2014.

Yankee Group analyst and author of the report Dmitriy Molchanov couldn’t stop gushing over the Tablets’ prospects:

The growth in this market is unprecedented. The tablet sales curve is rising faster than that of HDTVs, handheld gaming consoles or even MP3 players.

In a companion report to come later this week, Yankee Group is predicting that in 2015, the U.S. tablet market alone will generate more than $7 billion in revenue.

Key points of Yankee Group Report
* In 2010, North America leads the way, accounting for 37% of total global Tablet revenue.

* By 2014, Asia-Pacific is the front-runner. The region, primarily China, will own more than half the global market (58%), while North America’s share will drop to just 17%.

* Annual U.S. Tablet sales will more than triple between 2010 and 2015. Tablet sales will grow at a CAGR of 31%, from roughly 8 million units in 2010 to 30 million units by 2015.

* Average Tablet price tag in the U.S. will drop to $237 by 2015. Reference models, open source OSs and economies of scale in touch-screen manufacturing will help cut average selling price in half over the next few years.

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said a gazillion times.

Most Pakistanis are monsters vaguely resembling humans.

Now some of these Paki pigs in UK have made a profession out of abusing White Girls. How long before these swines bring their dirty practices to America.

Here, read this excerpt from the UK’s Daily Mail:

A senior officer at West Mercia police has called for an end to the ‘damaging taboo’ connecting on-street grooming with race.

Chief Inspector Alan Edwards said: ‘These girls are being passed around and used as meat.

‘To stop this type of crime you need to start everyone talking about it but everyone’s been too scared to address the ethnicity factor.

‘No one wants to stand up and say that Pakistani guys in some parts of the country are recruiting young white girls and passing them around their relatives for sex, but we need to stop being worried about the racial complication.’

In a briefing paper, researchers at University College London’s Jill Dando Institute of Security and Crime Science concurred that victims were typically white girls while ‘most central offenders are Pakistani’.

….The grooming usually begins with older groups of men befriending girls aged from 11 to 16 they meet on the street.

In a typical scenario, the victim is initially treated as a girlfriend and showered with presents and attention.

But the relationship quickly becomes more sinister as the abuser plies the child with drink and drugs before effectively pimping her out to friends and associates.

The worst cases involve young girls being moved around the country to be repeatedly abused.

Read the full story on the Daily Mail web site.

Now we don’t want you schmucks to start whining that it’s only a small section of Pakis who engage in such horrible activities.

Whether in UK or Pakistan or India, Pakis are the same – Engaging in activities deeply injurious to others.

Look at the several rallies just the other day in Pakistan in support of blasphemy laws. Read this excerpt from the New York Times:

A crippling strike by Islamist parties brought Pakistan to a standstill on Friday as thousands of people took to the streets, and forced businesses to close, to head off any change in the country’s blasphemy law, which rights groups say has been used to persecute minorities, especially Christians.

….In fiery speeches across all major cities and towns, religious leaders warned the government on Friday against altering the law, which carries a mandatory death sentence for anyone convicted of insulting Islam.

The BBC says these pro-blasphemy laws rallies were held in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.

The other day we were in Columbia, MD to meet a relative visiting from India.

It was lunch time and we had an hour to kill.

So, what do we do? Passionate gluttons that we are for Indian food, we whip out our iPhone and scout for a nearby desi restaurant.

Voila, that’s how we stumbled upon Royal Taj in a strip mall on McGaw Road in Columbia.

And the gamble paid off. Not royally though but decent enough.

With one or two exceptions, much of what we tasted at Royal Taj turned out to be decent fare.

Decent Vegetarian Spread

Alu Tikki and Mixed Vegetable Pakoras were bland and lukewarm but the cut pieces of Masala Dosa were hot. Masala Dosa was soft and thick but the flavorful potato filling amply compensated for its shortcomings.

The mildly spiced Spinach Curry with a slightly raw taste was not bad overall but we’d have relished it more had it been a tad spicier.

The medium spiced Zuchni Masala was a wee bit high on turmeric powder.

Vegetable Manchurian set in a medium thick sour gravy was delicious. Ditto with medium spiced Alu Curry.

Sambar was slightly high on tamarind and low on sambar spices. Mercifully, Royal Taj’s Sambar did not have the ugly red color chilli powder floating on top. Continue reading »
