India Digest: Noose Tightens around Indian Nero

* Noose Tightens on Indian Nero – Here on SI, we’ve long held Gujarat Chief Minister and Hindu leader Narendra Modi guilty of playing Nero while Muslims were butchered and set afire in the post-Godhra riots of 2002.

But Modi’s role may have gone further than merely playing Nero.

Indian investigative magazine Tehelka has yet again proved itself a worthy champion of unearthing the sordid behavior of those in high office through its scoop of the Supreme Court Ordered Special Investigation Team (SIT) Report into the post-Godhra riots in Gujarat.

You can read the summary of Tehelka’s findings in this Times of India story or go to Tehelka for the full story.

* Indian Blood Pressure Rising – Is growing prosperity having an adverse effect on health of Indians. It would appear so.

* Raja Paying Price for Helping Poor – We’ve heard many strange things in a long life but nothing as bizarre as DMK chief Karunanidhi’s defense of his partyman and former Indian Telecom Minister A.Raja.

According to Latest reports, SIT report says that Modi is not involved in Gujarat riots.

Its time English media, print and tv to stop the obsession of Narendra Modi. Their crusade have no buyers. This section of media seems hell bent to defame someone whose case is already pending in the courts. This should be treated as an intrusion and effort to influence the judiciary. And they are doing this to please their masters is only well known !!

“the substantiated allegations did not throw up material that would justify further action under the law.”

Intelligent people will once again read the 13 points in the above Tehelka story and come to an informed conclusion.

You stay with Tehelka, we are more concerned about price raise, corruption, and other “trivial” things.
I know I am going to be hated for saying this, maybe despised, I’d rather prefer somebody like Modi/Nitish to be my state CM rather than Karuna, Mayawati, YSR, and any other damn CM.

Call me a religious bigot, but I’d rather stick to my guns and call a SPADE a SPADE. I am not defending Modi’s involvement here, but hey when England can elect a person with dubious credibility like Winston Churchill to be their “Wartime” prime minister, we can hell choose to retain MODI………

If you people are hellbent on sending Modi to jail, so be it. This country requires somebody with BALLS like Modi to clear its rut rather than a docile PM like Manmohan Singh, who cares more about protecting his party members and Soniaji while the country burns.

But hey TEHELKA says Modi should go to Jail??? I wonder how come Tehelka never tried to foil even one of Congresses major scams? Coincidence???????
      Hell who cares?????????

Good point. We won’t be surprised if Congress is leaking documents to Tehelka.

“Good point. We won’t be surprised if Congress is leaking documents to Tehelka.”

I hope you do know that congress has bought over some reporters in media channels like NDTV and CNN-IBN. Some of these media channels are paid to hide the more “critical news” while some of the news channels just agree to FOCUS more on BJP news while covering the CONGRESS scams at the same time. Barkha Dutt has been recently exposed to be a pro-congress reporter. The others are yet to be exposed.

It’s sad to see that the media, which is supposed to be responsible and neutral, has heavily taken the Congress side. BJP has so far been foolish to see that the Congress has systematically eroded the very little credibility that BJP had gained during it’s short term of rule..

If Advani, Kadkare, and co don’t wake up, BJP will be permanently branded as the “Once-upon a time good party”. BJP needs young and dynamic leaders to step up. Perhaps they should bring in more new faces and slowly fade out the big heads like Advani. Only then can India have a hope.

Until then, Modi bashing and congress cashing will continue and we will continue debating….

again muslims are not worthy of ANY tolerance,it was mahound who deleberatly broke the treaty of hudaybiyyah and destroyed what was once a shrine to the old religions,if anything you should be kissing modiji’s toes otherwise those MOOSElims would be beheading people like they are in saudiya RAPIA

its best to kill the cancer cells before they manisfest otherwise this will soon happen to hindustan

For what seems like a takeout place (they only list takeout menu on their web site), the restaurant on Maynard St looks expensive. $4 for a Samosa, $9 for Dal Fry and $10 for Aloo Mutter at a takeout is ridiculous.

“Intelligent people will once again read the 13 points in the above Tehelka story and come to an informed conclusion.”,

This country is filled with such “Intelligent” people who do nothing but talk, talk, talk, and talk………….
I’d rather prefer foolish people who can “DO” good things rather than talk SHIT……
No wonder USA is more prosperous than India, they stick to people who get the job done despite whatever dubious credibilities they have personally. The USA dropped the ATOM BOMB on Hiroshima and killed a million lives, even today the children are getting affected by the recurring radiation??? But still they justified the act saying it saved a million lives. If you take away the human losses that occured due to the bomb, and instead replace it with the people saved by stopping WORLD WAR II, would you justify the decision????

To say shortly, India falls well short of proven CMs who can get the job done with minimum fuss??
Nitish, Modi, Chandrababu Naidu, and a few others are the only ones remaining. No matter what you or the bloody “intelligent” people say, pointing guns at Modi will only harm Gujarat in the future. I’d rather prefer him to stay till a responsible CM comes…….
Trying Modi at this point of view will only help Congress hide behind BJP’s ineptness????? If they still want to punish MODI, they should wait till the 2G scam accused are brought to light, and punished????

Modi is now the lesser evil… If we go for his head, then we are only foolishly bringing upon the bigger evil upon us…..
MODI is no more dangerous than an Italian who cares a shit about India or its people, be it Hindus, Muslims, or Christians. Even a fool can understand my point???

This is called Political logic. If you turn the pages of history, you would see that many nations have done the same to salvage their crisis….

Our favorite line in the above story – The tiger looked the minister with grateful eyes as it walked away. 😉

Only in India are tigers grateful to people but people are not grateful to people.
