We’re saddened beyond description.

On the field and away from the field, Pakistan Terroristan is a force to be reckoned with.

And we saw evidence of that yet again today.

Led by skipper Shahid Afridi, Terroristan played a superb game today to defeat home team Sri Lanka at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo by 11 runs.

With boundaries coming like clockwork, the Pakistan batsmen frustrated the Sri Lankan bowlers.

When Ahmed Shehzad fell early, we were hopeful that Sri Lanka would gain their first World Cup victory over Pakistan (they had previously lost six matches against Pak in earlier World Cups).

But Mohammad Hafeez and Kamran Akmal kept the runs coming.

And then Mohammad Hafeez was run out.

But Pakistani batsmen still kept finding the singles, twos and the occasional boundaries, ultimately ending with 277 for 7.

Younus Khan (72) and Misbah ul-Haq (83) were the top scorers for the Pakistan side.

Afridi Shines
The Sri Lankan batsmen were no match for the Pakistani bowlers and the wickets started tumbling early.

Upul Tharanga was the first Sri Lankan batsman to kiss the dust followed a short while later by Dilshan.

After that, Sri Lankan batsmen kept dropping like flies.

Hardly any boundaries or sixes from the Sri Lankan side until the last 20 minutes when Chamara Silva showed some signs of life.

Sangakkara kept our hopes alive for a few brief moments.

But truth be said, the match was over long before Sangakkara got out going for a big hit.

Pakistan Captain Afridi kept the Sri Lankan batsmen on a tight leash and ended with an impressive 4-34.

Bottom Line, Terroristan was the superior team, played a great game and richly deserved to win.

Final Score
Pakistan 277-7
Sri Lanka 266-9

Sri Lanka plays Pakistan aka Terroristan at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday.

For our U.S. readers, the match starts at 4AM EST.

This will be the 10th match in the ICC 2011 World Cup.

So far, Sri Lanka and Terroristan have crossed paths six times in previous World Cup matches and each time Sri Lanka has come a cropper.

Inshallah, Sri Lanka, the glorious nation that crushed the LTTE terrorists, will inflict a severe punishment on Terroristan on the cricket field tomorrow and erase the depressing humiliations of yesteryears. Continue reading »

Man, these Patels do land into all sorts of trouble in the U.S.

Hiring illegal immigrants, cheating on wages, the list of their venal sins goes on and on ad nauseum ad infinitum.

Now, a Patel from Southampton. PA is in deep shit with the law over even more serious charges – allegedly trying to arrange a Kidnapping.

The U.S. District Court in Newark (NJ) has recently indicted 40-year-old Jayen I Patel aka Jay Patel on charges of attempting to arrange the kidnapping of a woman and her minor child. Continue reading »

Among the many right-wing Republican whackos in the U.S., former Alaska Governor and John McCain’s VP running mate Sarah Palin is the dumbest, sickest and weirdest nut-case.

Her ignorance is appalling, her pronouncements on most subjects disgusting and her attitude toward President Obama sickening.

For all SI readers in India, Sarah Palin is a schmuck who doesn’t know diddly about anything except hogging the limelight through bizarre comments on guns, abortion, President Obama, the Democratic Party et al. Each time this woman opens her mouth, she spews forth drivel.

Like any sensible person, we usually ignore this Palin dummkopf.

But now comes the terrible news that Sarah Palin is visiting India and, for all we know, could well be sharing the stage with our Prime Minister Manmohan ‘spineless’ Singh at one of those pricey gabfests in New Delhi.

At an event being organized by news magazine India Today, Sarah Palin is listed as a keynote speaker who will address participants on “My Vision of America” on March 19, 2011.

Manmohan Singh is delivering the inaugural keynote at the same event.

Vision of America
We haven’t stopped laughing.

Asking Sarah Palin to speak on America is like asking Laloo Prasad Yadav to expound on the entente cordiale or  the MAD doctrine. ;)

Presumably, Sarah Palin will be paid handsomely to educate Indians on her ‘vision’ of America.

U.S. media reports suggest she usually asks $100,000 for a speech plus airfare, hotel and other expenses.

No wonder the India Today folks have kept the registration fees for their 2011 Conclave at a mind boggling Rs 65,000-Rs 85,000 per person.

But how such a dodo as Sarah Palin should be invited to an event where she’ll rub shoulders with the creme de la creme of India is a mystery unfathomable to sane minds like yours truly.

By the way, if any of you brave souls is interested in hurling rotten tomatoes or rotten eggs at Sarah Palin, the schmuck is scheduled to speak from 8PM-9:30PM on March 19 at the Taj Palace hotel in New Delhi during the India Today Conclave event.
