SL vs NZ; NZ Has Zero Chance of Winning

They say there are few certainties in life.

We say that among the few certainties, Sri Lanka’s victory over New Zealand in the semi-final of the ICC 2011 World Cup match that’ll soon get underway at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo is a sure thing. An assured thing.

If Sri Lanka’s performance against England the other day in the quarter-final is anything to go by, the New Zealanders have no hope in hell.

NZ won the toss and elected to bat first.

While there is no change in the Sri Lankan team from their last match with England, NZ brought in left arm paceman Andy Mckay.

Final Scores

New Zealand – 217 All Out

Sri Lanka – 220-5

Kumar Sangakkara won the Man of the Match award for his fine knock of 54, good wicketkeeping and superb captaincy that has now taken the team into the finals.

SL WILL WIN BY 10 WKTS

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Well, every day can’t be Saturday.

NZ is slightly better than England, so SL may lose a wicket or two before winning the match.

So the only uncertainty in this match is how many wickets SL gonna lose while thrashing NZ.

Honey, as they say, Great Minds Think Alike!

Catch of the tournament? .. at least the best of the ones I have seen..

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    Simply superb!

There was another good catch in one of the recent matches. One of those running to catch-the-ball ones. Can’t remember the ‘catcher’ or the match.

oh right.. Oram catching Kallis… equally good or maybe better.. muccccch more important than this.. How quickly I forgot about that..

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

      Thanks.

How did these SL guys get so good amidst all that civil war, limited resources, not too much corporate support….Beats us. A way out of poverty like baseball for some Puerto Ricans Dominicans?

wow an exciting final ind vs sl on the cards considering ind will crush the shit of the world porkistan

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

You write: considering ind will crush the shit of the world porkistan

Sweetie, we hope so too. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet. These Pakistan Terroristan fellas are wily rats quite capable of gnawing their way out of tricky situations.

BTW, just processed your earlier comment too, honey. Was waiting for one more comment from you and to see how often you’d return after describing our fine blog as shitty. 😉

let us not create a negative vibe by sensationalizing that shithole bastards lead by a ball biting chutiya dickfridi who runs his mouth to the extent of criticizing the god of cricket aka sachin

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

To be fair, while we can’t stand them, Terroristan has played a fairly good game so far.

But what we find most bugging is to see all the Pak players starting their post-match interviews with thanks to Allah.

As if Allah or Ram is guiding the bats and balls.

This time, the Pakis have already started their prayer nonsense:

Asking for Allah’s help, Pakistanis pray ahead of cricket World Cup semifinal against India

  6. sam   March 29, 2011 at 11:33 pm

Despite all hype, India is going to win quite easily. Pakistan is no match.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    Ha ha ha.

Did you just return after a special Puja at the Ram Temple? 😉

I was wondering why Vet had to give Jesse Ryder the ball despite Oram having 2 overs to spare. To ease the pressure off SL??

Anyways it was a not bad match, worthy of semifinal.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

It likely wouldn’t have made any difference even if Vettori had given the ball to Oram.

Maybe, giving the ball to Ryder was the reward for the fine Tharanga catch and the Dilshan catch later. 😉

Only 50% has come to my office today that too only for giant screen viewing (along with beer) of the big match.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    Hope it’s Free Beer! 😉

What beer is popular these days? Kingfisher, UB, Haywards, Golden Eagle, Kohdays or do you have many more varieties now?

As usual, we’re drinking Gin. Alone. 🙁

    • shadowfax_arbit   March 30, 2011 at 12:25 am

      Its free beer 🙂

And they always give us Kingfisher 🙁

Fosters/Haywards is getting increasingly popular these days, but mostly its Kingfisher.

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

A lot of Indian restaurants stock Kingfisher here too.
