Arrambam – Good Opening in U.S

Ajith Kumar’s Arrambam has opened to a decent response.

About 70 people in the hall at a theatre on the East Coast (U.S.)

People are still trickling in.

Movie should start in about five minutes, i.e. at 9PM Eastern Time.

Update – 1

Interval – 10:10PM

Plain awful so far.

The central theme of movie up to now is Terrorism.

Movie is set so far in Mumbai.

Nayantara looks like a cast-off rag.

Tapsee Pannu acts like a retard….she ‘s natural at it. 😉

Arya is a hacker in the film.

Is Ajith a terrorist or undercover cop?

Update – 2

The second half is worse than the first.

Movie has no focus – Terrorism, bullet-proof vest scam, Police and Political Corruption etc.

Ajith plays a bomb disposal officer who has been at the receiving end of a corrupt system.

The movie is hopelessly amateurish.

I’d be extremely surprised if this garbage resonates even with the trash loving Tamil movie fans.

11:47PM – End of the Nightmare.

Condolences for your nightmare and hopefully morning sickness….

I am yet to recover from the shock from this disaster as I had to step in place for a friend who couldn’t make it to the movie.

Will take a long nap and join in the party

It’s only 10:59AM in India. Good Lord, they must have had Arrambam shows starting at 8AM??

I wouldn’t be surprised if this junk bombs big time at the box office.

The show started at 6 AM, FYI..

Imagine the pain we had to go through at the cost of wonderful early morning sleep…

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

OMG! I wasn’t aware they had shows that early in India.

We have late-night (midnight) shows here but morning shows usually start at 10AM in some theatres in NYC and later in the smaller cities.

No surprise, when Rajinikanth’s Baba released they had shows as early as 4AM

That weekend when Endiran was released, theatres in and around Chennai ran shows 24-hrs non-stop.

I watched 1.45AM show-second day of release. Shocked to see families flocking into the hall in that wee hours. No kidding.

        Good Lord!

The only occasion when people line up at ungodly hours in the U.S. is when Apple releases a new iPhone!

    Back from the movie..

    Just awful ..

Shitty performance, terrible storyline, godawful songs..

Ajith should do us all a favor and quit from cinemas The only solace was the trailer of Ramleela during the interval.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Alas, no saving graces here in the form of trailers! 🙁 Audience didn’t seem invested in the movie.

Was there a good crowd for Arrambam at your movie hall?

I’ve already seen the Ram-Leela trailer two or three times while watching Hindi films! A riot of colors but I’m not sure if the movie will live up to the trailer!

It was housefull and you can see Ajith fans bragging about the movie all over the internet.. The moment i logged in to my FB, I see posts like how their thala is stylish, savvy, svelte, sun, moon, god….

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

      Atrocious!

By the way, that song Stylish Tamizhachi was so horribly picturized as were the other numbers.

Except the first 2 rows, the movie hall was packed. It was running in 2 screens in Ambani’s shitty tent kottai..

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

I wonder if the poor word of mouth will screw this junk. One can only hope!

        Poor word of mouth?

We overheard few people in an escalator talking over phone praising this film as “Sema movie” and recommending this to their friends.

        SearchIndia.com Responds:

Mongrels will relish anything flung at them, more so if it has a stench attached!

@ Dr. Logu- Not like that. Quite a few in FB are saying the film is average. In fact one online reviewer says that this is a hero-worshipping film.

    • boopalanj   November 3, 2013 at 1:22 pm

Really? And that “one online reviewer” is you? 😉

Did you review this too, Arun? Like all other films.

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

No, the reviewer Arun referred to was not himself but a different person.

  4. Arun s   November 1, 2013 at 1:47 pm

As expected, most of critics have praised the film.
But one reviewer thinks differently and says Mankatha is far better than this.
