If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a million times.

Indians love trash.

Oh yeah, they just love to watch trash. Particularly, the trashy Bollywood films.

Trashier the better for Indians living in America.

Here’s how the new Bollywood film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan fared at the U.S. box office for the opening September 9-11, 2011 weekend compared to a few prominent Bollywood films:

What is it that attracts some Tamils to filth?

Bet even the great Greek philosophers Socrates and Plato would have been flummoxed by the above question.

Be it the stinking Cooum in Chennai or Ajith’s latest crapshow Mankatha, like bees drawn to a flower a lot of Tamils find their nirvana in filth.

Must be something in the Tamil genes that has so many of them genuflecting time and again at the altar of trash.

U.S. desis have just proved their immense love for gobbling up stinking trash.

Bollywood criminal Salman Khan’s latest crap-show Bodyguard, which released in the U.S. last Wednesday, has grossed $1.36 million from August 31-September 5.

That’s not an impressive figure compared to My Name is Khan (Shahrukh Khan) or 3 Idiots (Aamir Khan) but for a horrendous piece of garbage like Bodyguard a gross collection of $1.36 million is a sin.

Shameful Reflection

The box office collections for Bodyguard are a shameful reflection on the obscene and poor taste of Indians in the U.S.

Any other audience but Indians, viewers would have spat on the screen and stormed out of the movie hall in disgust at the trashy spectacle on the screen.

Folks, to put it mildly Bodyguard is a crude piece of shit unfit to be released on movie screens.

Of course, Bodyguard was helped by its Eid release and the fact that the movie’s hero is a Muslim. Our hypothesis is that besides Indians, the movie must have attracted hordes of Pakistanis and Bangladeshis.

As the wise souls of SearchIndia.com have often said, you can take the Indian out of India but not the India out of Indians.

Buddah Bachchan aka Big B aka Amitabh Bachchan just doesn’t draw the crowds anymore.

Buddah is kinda like a Jonah for movies lately. The kiss of death.

Like son, like father, eh? ;)

Buddah’s name on the marquee virtually guarantees the Bollywood movie will fare badly at the U.S. box office.

Whether it’s Paa, Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap or Rann, Amitabh Bachchan’s name guarantees F A I L U R E at the box office.

No surprise then that Buddah’s latest movie Aarakshan has not fared well at the U.S. box office.

See how badly Aarakshan did at the U.S. box office compared to a few prominent Bollywood films:

U.S. based desis are loving Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

Just loving it.

In its third weekend (July 29-31, 2011) at the U.S. box office, ZNMD grossed $348,092 taking its total gross to $2.56 million.

Ajay Devgn’s Singham, on the other hand, has received a solid kicking from NRIs in the U.S.

In its second weekend, Singham grossed a pitiful $63,692 taking its total U.S. gross to an embarrassingly low $287,458.

By the way, ZNMD was distributed in the U.S. by Eros International and Singham by Reliance Big Pictures.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is holding strong at the U.S. box office even in the second weekend.

ZNMD’s second weekend box office numbers were way, way better than Singham’s (Ajay Devgn) first weekend numbers. Now, how does that make you feel Chutia (of course, we mean you, Ajay Devgn)?

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is the third Bollywood movie after 3 Idiots and MNIK in recent years to fare well in second weekend at U.S. box office.

For the second weekend, i.e. July 22-24, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara grossed $670,258 with an average gross of $6,703 per theater. It came in again at #15 retaining its first weekend rank.

The total gross of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara up to July 25, 2011 in the U.S. is $2.0 million.

ZNMD 2nd Wknd BO – Better Than Singham 1st Wknd

Ajay Devgn’s Singham is a bloody disaster at the box office.

We mean the U.S. box office.

For the July 22-24, 2011 opening weekend, Singham could manage a total gross of a mere $161,063 and an average gross of $3,221.

We’ve seen the Tamil version of Singham and it’s utter garbage.

But given that Indians (in India) love garbage, we wouldn’t be surprised if Singham fares well in India.

Here’s how badly Singham fared at the U.S. box office compared to a few prominent Bollywood films:

(Dedicated to Thieving Swine Vikram’s Scumbag Fans)

Rotten Stolen Trash Deiva Thirumagal featuring Thirutu Nai Vikram has fared miserably at the box office.

The U.K. Box Office that is.

It was way below Vikram’s earlier movies Kanthaswamy and Bheema.

Hey, it is worse than even Karthi’s Siruthai, Jeeva’s Ko and Vishal’s Avan Ivan.

For the opening weekend July 15-17, Deiva Thirumagal had a total gross of just £24,924 and average gross of £2,266 per theater.

Deiva Thirumagal is a horrible copy of the Hollywood film I Am Sam starring Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer)

Take a look at the below table to see Deiva Thirumagan‘s miserable performance at the UK Box Office:

ZNMD 2nd Wknd BO – Better Than Singham 1st Wknd

Hey, who’s surprised?

Not us.

Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has found favor with moviegoers, as the wise SI predicted.

For the July 15-17, 2011 opening weekend, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara did close to a million dollars. Well, $960,548 to be precise.

The movie came in at No-15 at the U.S. box office and had an average gross of $9,605 (a very good average, in our not-so-humble opinion).

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’s box office performance is a lot better than all but a handful of Bollywood films.

We’re pleased as punch to tell you that Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara did better than that Bollywood murderer Salman Khan’s Ready and Dabangg. ;)

With Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’s strong showing, we expect Zoya Akhtar is now a hot commodity in Bollywood. Good for the babe.
