36 China Town does one thing very well - it proves that the epidemic of mediocre Bollywood movies shows no sign of abating.

Barely 20 minutes into 36 China Town, our eyes were wandering towards the Exit sign. 36 China Town is that boring.

A clumsy script, undistinguished acting and pedestrian music combine to deliver a movie that's bereft of much entertainment value.

36 China Town centers around a bunch of characters suspected of murdering a rich casino owner Sonia Chang (Isha Koppikar). All of the suspects had visited Sonia Chang's massive house around the time of her murder but lie brazenly to cover up their tracks.

Besides Raj (Shahid Kapoor) and Priya (Kareena Kapoor), the other suspects are KK (Johnny Lever) and his wife Ruby (Tanaaz Currim), Natwar (Paresh Rawal) and his wife Gracy and Rocky (Upen Patel), a playboy.

It's left to police officer Karan (Akshaye Khanna) to investigate the murder and bring the culprit to book.

The Abbas-Mustan team, which delighted audiences in the past with such fine movies as Baazigar and Aitraaz, has delivered a dud in 36 China Town.

Sadly, Kareena Kapoor is starting to lose that fresh, charming look she had just a few movies back.

The music does nothing to lift this movie from its abyss. - Copyright SearchIndia.com.
