Naksha
Reviewer's Summary - Nauseatingly Bad

Language: Hindi
Year: September 8, 2006 in the U.S.
Actors: Sunny Deol, Vivek Oberoi, Sameera Reddy, Jackie Shroff
Director: Sachin Bajaj
Producer: Akshay Bajaj
Story & Dialogs: Milap Zaveri & Tusshar
Lyrics: Sameer
Music: Pritam

There should be a Nuremberg trial for crimes against humanity targeted at birdbrained Bollywood directors like Sachin Bajaj.

Bajaj's Naksha is an eggregious offense against all notions of good taste.

A bizaare tale involving a map and half-brothers Veer Malhotra (Sunny Deol) and Vicky Malhotra (Viveik Oberoi) pitted against a ruthless villain Bali Bhaiyya (Jakie Shroff), Naksha is completely without any artistic merit.

Vicky, Veer and Bali are all after one of the greatest things in Hindu mythology - the great Mahabharat character Karna's armor and ear-rings (kavacha and kundala) that lies somewhere in the snow-clad Om mountain. After all, whoever gets hold of Karna's armor and ear-rings gets great physical power.

How good Veer and Vicky eventually defeat wicked Bali takes up the rest of the movie.

Neither the story, nor the acting or even the music raise above sub-mediocre levels.

We are mystified as to why director Sachin Bajaj felt the need to introduce Sameera Reddy's character Riya in the movie. Perhaps, he needed a few sexy dances to titillate the masses. Sadly, the young lady seems pathetically unequal to the task of acting.

As for Sameera Reddy's dancing, we were reminded of a childhood visit to a circus and seeing a baby elephant dance to a catchy tune.

If you are looking for solace in Naksha's music, just fuggedaboutit. It's as bad as the rest of this assinine movie.

A week from now, if anyone remembers a movie called Naksha we'd be greatly surprised.

Naksha marks Sachin Bajaj's debut as director.

We can only caution moviegoers that Naksha is a harbinger of the dire times ahead for them if Sachin Bajaj continues to make similar movies.

Naksha left us in a high dudgeon at the infantile levels that Bollywood is sinking to.- Copyright SearchIndia.com.
