In its time, this love story was a big hit with the audience.

A banal story about two warring families and their children who fall in love with each other, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak gave a big fillip to the careers of Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla.

Raj (Aamir Khan) falls in love with Rashmi (Juhi Chawla) despite knowing that their respective families are bitter enemies. The cause of the bitter enmity: Raj's father had killed Rashmi's uncle in the past.

In the face of unrelenting opposition from their respective families to their love, the two youngsters elope even as preparations are being made for Rashmi's marriage to someone else.

Perhaps, the film's appeal lay in the extraordinary charm and freshness that both Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla brought to the screen - both elements rare in Bollywood.

Akele Hain To Kya Gum Hain, Papa Kehate Hain and Ye Meri Hamsafar are some of the better songs. - Copyright SearchIndia.com.
