Raju Chacha is not a movie you'll remember coming out of the movie hall.

Nor would you wish to.

A startlingly unrealistic story, bad music and mediocre acting combine to turn Raju Chacha into a crude piece of work that despite the presence of heavyweight stars such as Ajay Devgan and Kajol leaves a bad taste behind.

Shekhar (Ajay Devgan) is a small-time crook who eyes Anna (Kajol) mistakenly believing that she's a member of the wealthy industrialist Siddhant Rai's (Rishi Kapoor) family. But Anna is only governess to Siddhant Rai's three children.

Soon, Shekhar also really falls in love with her.

Anna falls for Shekhar only to learn the truth of Shekhar's true colors at the altar and their marriage is called off.

In the meantime, Siddhant Rai's partners kill him and put the young children through the grinder. Shekhar comes out of jail and assumes the guise of Raju Chacha, the long-missing uncle of the kids to help them. In the meantime, Anna is also back with the children.

Johnny Lever provides the usual Bollywood comic relief as Shekar's sidekick Jaddu.

While Kajol is alright as the governess Anna, Ajay Devgan's mediocre performance is a let-down.

The music in Raju Chacha is dispiritingly commonplace and as bad as the rest of this coarse movie. - Copyright SearchIndia.com.
