Navya Nair - Tamil Film Actress (Born in 1984) One of the few talented actresses in Indian movies, Navya Nair (real name - Dhanya Nair) made her debut in the Malayalam film Ishtam in 2001. A spontaneous actress, Navya seems natural in front of the camera. Although the majority of her movies has been in her native Malayalam language, Navya has also starred in a bunch of Tamil movies including Mayakkannadi, Amirtham and Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy. As the daughter of a poor Brahmin priest in love with the son of a Nadaswaram exponent, Navya Nair put forth a fine performance in Amirtham that must have been the envy of her peers like Trisha Krishnan, Asin and Namitha. Navya was also one of the saving graces of Mayakkannadi, which had Cheran as her co-star. Navya's acting abilities have already gained her recognition. She won the Kerala State Award for the Best Actress in 2002 for Nandanam and for Kanne Madanguka and Saira in 2005. | ||||
