Indian Fish in American Waters
Reviewer's Summary - Different

Language: English
Year: 2003
Actors: Raj Vasudeva, Shweta Malhotra, Puja Lalmalani, Saumya Bhatnagar
Written & Directed by: Manish Gupta
Producer: Chandra Karnati & Manish Gupta

This offbeat film explores the relationship between Navin Reddy (Raj Vasudeva), a newly-arrived Indian programer in USA, and a US-raised Gujju girl Meghna Patel (Shweta Malhotra).

Initial tension between the FOB (Fresh Off the Boat) Navin and the ABCD (American Born Compassionate Desi) Meghna soon turn into love. But the course of true love is often thorny as it is here too.

One drawback of this film is that the differences between the Indians in the FOB and ABCD categories are dealt with very superficially.

Raj Vasudeva is impressive as the diffident Navin but Shewata Malhotra Meghna seems a little stiff.

Looks like the director couldn't resist the temptation to go in for a happy ending. - Copyright SearchIndia.com.
