Aitraaz is a film with more highs than lows, a rare phenomenon in Bollywood.

By Bollywood standards, Aitraaz has a novel theme - sexual harassment of a male employee by a female boss.

A highlight of the movie is the song Gila Gila Gila. Beautifully picturized, the song is reason enough to watch this above average movie in which Miss World (2000) Priyanka Chopra is cast in a negative role.

Raj Malhotra (Akshay Kumar) is a senior executive at a mobile phone company. The young executive is happily married to Priya Saxena (Kareena Kapoor) and has just moved into a lovely new house.

Into this situation walks in Raj's former career-obsessed girl friend Sonia Roy (Priyanka Chopra) and her much older husband Ranjit Roy (Amrish Puri), the owner of the firm.

Ranjit makes Sonia the new managing director of the company and Raj's new boss.

Sonia promotes Raj as director of the company when he was expecting to be just CEO. Soon, she attempts to restart the relationshp with Raj. But Raj rebuffs Sonia's sexual advances.

An incensed and frustrated Sonia complains to her husband that Raj had attempted to rape her. Refusing to take the false rape charge lying down, Raj with the support of his wife Priya files a sexual harassment case against Sonia.

Raj and Priya stumble upon a key piece of evidence in the form of a cassette that will absolve him of the rape charge. But the cassette disappears when Raj's lawyer Ram Choitrani (Annu Kapoor) is involved in a suspicious car accident.

Does Raj have a way out or is he doomed now?

Both Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra have turned in solid performances. Kareena is alright.

Besides Gila Gila, Tala Tum Tala Tum is another fine song.

According to Akshay Kumar, Aitraaz was inspired by the rape case involving the NBA star Kobe Bryant. That's baloney. We think the broad theme of Aitraaz has been lifted from the 1994 Hollywood film Disclosure starring Michael Douglas and Demi Moore. - Copyright SearchIndia.com.
