Anand Jon Will be 95 When He Gets Out of Jail

Update: Anand Jon Pleads Guilty to Molestation Charge in NYC

South Indian fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander got a minimum of 59 years in the U.S. slammer today.

This means the 36-year-old high-profile fashion designer from the South Indian state of Kerala will be in his 90s before he walks out of prison.

That is, if he ever walks out of prison.

Anand, who was convicted in November 2008 of rape of aspiring young models, was sentenced today in a Los Angeles court.

Anand faces charges in New York and Texas as well.

It does look like the end of the earthly road for this young man.

what a fall! little boy is going to get what he (supposedly.. can’t rule out a conspiracy, can we?..) meted out to little girls.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

You write: can’t rule out a conspiracy

Only Anand and the girls know for sure.

Prison is not a nice place to be for a young foreigner convicted of raping young girls.

Better they change the sentence to death sentence . .

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

His 59-year sentence is as good as a death sentence.

    Maybe, in some respects worse.

While U.S. prisons are not as bad as Indian prisons (we’ve seen the insides of only one Indian prison – the old Chennai Central Prison, near the Government General Hospital), they are bad enough with overcrowding, abuse, gangs et al.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

You write: any experience in jail ??

Depends on how you define ‘experience in jail.’

We were there on a few-hours long conducted tour of the entire complex.

You toured Chennai Central Jail? Wow – amazing. Mr Jon will get to meet more “Johns” in jail. He is good looking and he will soon become somebody’s “@#$%%”. It is a death sentence for him. By the way, if we had to send the Anand Jons of our woods (Bollywood, Kollywood, Tollywood, Mollywood, etc), we would need 2 things:

    1. Atleast 10-12 new prisons for holding these people
    2. New resources who can take up the responsibility of making movies for these woods (as 70% of them will be sent to prison)
    3. Clones of Kiran Bedi to keep these guys under vigil

Speaking of jail, did you see the video of the prisoners in malaysia dancing to MJ thriller? hope we can have all these new prisoners entertain themselves like this when they are in there.

    1. You write: You toured Chennai Central Jail? Wow – amazing.

Yes, we got a conducted tour of the entire prison.

We even talked to a prisoner, who spoke flawless English. The guy was collecting mangoes under a huge tree inside the prison. The fella told us he was in the can for car theft. Another vivid memory of the visit was of the yellow, yes sir, yellowish rice balls.

Again, possible only in Incredible India if you have influence or money.

We’ve even gone into a tiger’s cage in a prominent zoo and had shots taken of us holding a tiger cub. Unfortunately, the pictures were on Kodak Instant (like the Polaroid instants and must have faded by now). No kidding.

    2. No, we haven’t seen the video of the prisoners in Malaysia dancing to MJ Thriller. Will see if YouTube has it.

Hmmm, SI holding a tiger cub – adventurous!!!! 🙂 Is it Vandaloor?

Also, you said the food was yellow in color? poor people, even though they committed crimes, they are human beings. So were you a journo or a politico to get a conducted tour in Chennai central.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. You Write Above: So were you a journo or a politico to get a conducted tour in Chennai central.

    Neither.

Our visit was motivated by curiosity and facilitated by influence of a high officer.

We also have a faint recollection of seeing one or two nut cases.

Indian prisons are hell. Gregory David Roberts describes the Arthur Road jail (????) in his ‘novel’ Shantaram well, the beatings, conditions and all.

    2. You write: SI holding a tiger cub – adventurous!!!! 🙂 Is it Vandaloor?

No, a zoo in a different state.

Hope you read how Anand Jon’s sister’s controversy. They are trying to prosecute her for contacting a member of the jury.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Whatever punishment Sanjana gets (depending on whether she’s found innocent or guilty) will be nothing compared to Anand ‘s 59-year death sentence.
