All the Worst for All the Best at Box Office

Sad.

The Ajay Devgn-Sanjay-Dutt-Fardeen Khan comedy All the Best had to suffer the ignominy of not even hitting the six figure mark in the opening weekend at the U.S. box office.

For the October16-18, 2009 weekend, All the Best could manage to gross a mere $96,054.

That’s a shame because this movie is a billion times better than Akshay Kumar’s latest crap show Blue.

Here’s how All the Best fared compared to a few other Bollywood movies.

Both All the Best, and even Wanted did well in India, but seem to have tanked abroad.

Makes me wonder if the Desis only go for the SRK-KJO-Yash Raj kinda movies.

    1. Felt a little bad for All the Best over its box office debacle. Was funny too.

    2. You write: Makes me wonder if the Desis only go for the SRK-KJO-Yash Raj kinda movies.

Bigger culprit – the desi Grocery stores here. They have the DVD within two or three days.

The movie industry lacks the cojones to do anything because they are bigger thieves.

    3. Yenu swami, what are you doing in your hometown? Checking out on the damages caused by the recent floods? 😉

This difference between taste of audiences in India, and abroad (US,UK, Aus) has been discussed.

Subash Ghai’s Yaadein, a real torture flick, was a complete washout in India, but a hit overseas, motivating him to unleash more tortures (Kisna, Yuvvraaj).

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. Yes, Yaadein was junk. Here’s a short, pre-SI blog review.

As if either group has any taste.

Scratch the surface and desis are the same everywhere. Crude, stinking buffoons with Rabelaisian taste (yours truly excluded, of course).

Come on, who else would lap up that monstrosity Singh is Kinng?

“Yenu swami, what are you doing in your hometown? Checking out on the damages caused by the recent floods? ”

My hometown is actually Vizag in AP, so no damages to check there.

And if your are referring to Bhubaneshwar, where i currently work, no floods here also. LOL

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

No, was referring to not-so-cool-barga a.k.a. Gulbarga.

Happened to catch some climax scenes of Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham, last night.. OMG, I’d rather sit through a Vijay movie than this 211″ trash.. appalling melodrama!

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham was rubbish.

There’s just no way Bollywood can hope to compete on the world stage for a millennium with trash like Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham.

Our actors, producers and directors would be laughed off the stage. Rank amateurs.

Here’s a short review of Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham (from the pre-SI blog days)
