The King’s Speech won the prestigious Best Picture Oscar tonight at the 83rd Annual academy awards ceremony.

It got 12 nominations and won four.

Colin Firth won the Best Actor Oscar this evening at the 83rd Annual Academy awards ceremony for his stirring performance of a stuttering monarch in The King’s Speech.

This is Colin Firth’s first Academy Award and his second nomination.

As SI wrote in the review of The King’s Speech:

For movie buffs, to not see The King’s Speech would be a sacrilege.

The competition in the category was really fierce.

Mighty disappointed.

Jennifer Lawrence did not win the Best Actress Oscar. :(

Instead that honor went to Natalie Portman for her work in Black Swan.

Last year’s Best Actor Oscar winner Jeff Bridges handed Natalie the award.

Tom Hooper won the Best Director award at the 83rd Academy Awards for King’s Speech.

The movie is lovely and we strongly recommend it to y’all.

Randy Newman won the Best Original Song Oscar tonight for We Belong Together from Toy Story 3.

Jennifer Hudson presented the award in this category.

A.R.Rehman did perform at the Oscars though tonight.

Colleen Atwood won her third Oscar.

The award came for her work on Alice in Wonderland.

We’ve seen Alice in Wonderland and the costume design in the movie is nothing short of amazing!
