1 Crore Chutias Want to Move to Amreeka

Good Lord, is there no getting away from this locust swarm of chutias.

This morning we woke up to the unwelcome news from a Gallup Poll that 10 million Indians want to move (as in permanently) to the U.S.

Stupid Indians

We’ve always considered our Indians as schmucks and the results of the new Gallup Poll only confirms our belief.

gallup poll survey on apiring migrants to us

The U.S. has been in the grip of a severe recession and economic downturn for several years now.

Unemployment numbers in the U.S. remain stubbornly high. Tens of millions of Americans are unemployed or under-employed.

Mexican Flood Not Even a Trickle Now

Things are now so bad in the U.S. that even the Mexicans, our good neighbors to the south, no longer come here.

Mexicans are not only not coming here any more but a lot of them are now going back because of the lack of opportunities in the U.S.

Yet 10 million chutias want to move here on a permanent basis.

Are things so bad in India that 10 million of them just want to get out of that benighted hellhole or is it plain ignorance of the grim reality here.

I think most people genuinely believe that US on its worst day is a better place than India on its best.

Only until they land here and get stuck heating bagels and making Medium Coffee with cream and sugar day in and day out at the donut or convenience store at starvation wages.

SI is missing the big picture here.. India is in fact last in the list. considering the population and the % of people aspiring, 99.15% of the Indians are content in India and don’t give a tiny rat’s ass about America..

The two African nations occupy the first two slots.. and surprise! almost 5% of UK pussies want to migrate to US…. talk about euro trash eh…

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

For India and China any number will appear insignificant as a percent because of their overall huge size

True that 1 crore appears insignificant considering India’s population.

But 1 crore is not a number to be sniffed at.

Sometimes the individual trees are as important as the forest.

My uncle has moved there last week. Plan is to stay there for like one year, but he is bored to death on the third day itself.

Btw SI, Avengers review coming by any chance?

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Of course….We love Robert Downey Jr.

But the film is releasing next week here.

The Tezz review and comments are not opening… “Under Maintenance” it says.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Working fine here. Not sure what the problem is.

Too many moving parts with WP – Software, plugins and theme.

    • Naveen   May 1, 2012 at 2:40 am

It is still showing “Under Maintenance”

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

It’s an errant plugin. Sorry, hard to fix without uninstalling it.

      • Naveen   May 3, 2012 at 1:12 am

This is happening again to both the Tezz posts.

        SearchIndia.com Responds:

We use a plugin to block traffic from China, North Korea, Ukraine and other high-hacker nations. That’s causing the problem.

        We’re trying to fix it.

Well, why do 1 crore Indians aspire to move to America?

Hmmm, very very difficult question to ask…. Lemme think about a few factors:
    1) Lousy government
    2) Pathetic facilities
    3) Inflation at an all-time high (Prices of Petrol rocketing, Government decides to raise Diesel to add fuel to the fire)
    4) Astronomical Real Estate prices. (Out of Roti, Makaan, and Kapdaa, we can count MAkaan out now, thanks to RE). Even people like me, who earn almost 50k as gross and 37 K as net cannot afford to buy a 700 square feet flat/house 🙁
    5) Outdated Education System
    6) Lack of recognition and opportunities for genuinely talented people
    7) Absurd taxation and nothing in return. Why have 2,00,000 as the base slab for taxation when the average monthly expenditure has crossed the 2, 40, 000 mark per year.

Well, these are just some of the reasons. To put it shortly, they move to get a better standard of living. why blame them? INfact, I assume that even you migrated to the US hoping to live life better. While you weren’t an IT coolie, who spent sleepless nights of slogging and cajoling managers to reach the US, you still went there to make a decent living. I am not being sarcastic here, but facts are facts. When knowledgeable people like you migrate to US, why shouldn’t others do the same? Why do you treat them differently.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

You write: When knowledgeable people like you migrate to US, why shouldn’t others do the same? Why do you treat them differently.

    Things were different then.

There are few opportunities here these days.

This nation is awash in debt, drowning in unemployment and the latest jobs report released this morning presents a gloomy picture.

And we have far too many Indian restaurants here (which is where a lot of new immigrants will end up) already.

Maybe, it’s time for us to attack another country to get our economy rolling again. 😉

Eye-Ran (as they pronounce Iran on TV here), here we come!

All ye Mullahs, Kamineys, Khomeinis etc get ready for your tryst with 64 virgins in Heaven.
