Reviewer's Summary - Horrid Language: Tamil Year: 2005 Actors: Abita, Shriman, Kunal, Abbas, Abhinayasri, Manorama, Radha Ravi Director: K.Rajan Producer: K.R.Ganesh, M.Anbu Music: R.K.Sundhar Story, Screenplay & Dialogs: K.Rajan A hopelessly boring theme coupled with banal songs and crude acting makes for a horrid movie. The movie centers around a young girl Amruta (Abita) of marriageable age and the travails surrounding the process of finding a groom for her. You see, the young lady has the misfortune of being born under a bad astrological sign (Sevva Dosham) that makes it all but impossible for Amruta's father to find a groom for her. When she finally lands a groom, the chap (Abbas) scoots with with her jewels on their wedding night itself to save his sister's marriage from collapse. The shock causes the death of Amruta's father and prompts her to consider suicide. The passion scenes of Amruta's brother (Shriman) and his sex-obsessed wife (Abhinayasri) are crude beyond description. Then, there's Amruta's friend Lakshmi who gets married to a nice, understanding young man (Kunal). If you are looking for some relief from the music, there is none forthcoming. All in all, Unarchigal is a travesty of entertainment. This is yet another Tamil movie that should never have seen the light of the day. - Copyright Rekha Inc.
