Child Porn – As American as Apple Pie

Deputy Attorney General Daniel Simmons Charged with Rape of Young Boy

Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta. She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock. She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on the dotted line. But in my arms she was always Lolita.
– Humbert Humbert in Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita

Americans of different stripes, classes, races and professions have embraced Child Porn with an enthusiasm and avidity seldom seen in civilized nations (we won’t discuss India in this post since that fetid landmass is still fertile soil for depredations of every kind).

Cops, top-ranking prosecutors, teachers, Catholic priests, doctors, registered sex offenders, students and a variety of other Americans seem to possess an inextinguishable fire in their loins for young girls.

To borrow from the great 20th century writer Vladimir Nabokov, nymphets (minor girls) are the sparks that seem to light up a lot of American lives in the 21st century.

But never let it be said Americans are discriminatory in their sexual peccadilloes. For when it comes to lusting after, and cornering, children, Americans, particularly those wearing the long habit of priests, have often found solace and unholy release from coercing unwilling young boys into their beds. Catholic dioceses are now paying the price with huge payouts to victims and going bankrupt. Just a decade or two back, there were organizations like NAMBLA (North American Man Boy Love Association) openly espousing their perverted doctrines to anyone who lent an ear.

Passage of tough legislation (Megan’s Law, for example), establishment of Child Predator Task Forces by several states, long prison sentences, universal online monitoring and the stigma and scarlet taint imposed by mandatory sex offender registration with its harsh restrictions after release from prison seem to have little deterrent effect on Americans sighing, lusting and panting after Lolitas.

It’s hard to open an American newspaper or browse through web sites of U.S. Attorneys (i.e. U.S. Justice Department Prosecutors) without stumbling upon loads of reports of reckless Child Porn addicts falling on the sword of their illicit passions.

For purposes of this post, we’ve considered a sample. We dug into the press release sections of U.S. Attorneys in four states (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware) and took a random look at a few issues of a bunch of local newspapers on the East Coast.

Between the age limits of nine and fourteen there occur maidens who, to certain bewitched travelers, twice or many times older than they, reveal their true nature which is not human, but nymphic (that is, demoniac); and these chosen creatures I propose to designate as “nymphets.”

What is Child Porn?

Lawyers, prosecutors, legislators and the police have knotted themselves into a frenzy with narrow, legalistic definitions of Child Porn to suit their ends.

But from a layman’s perspective, Child Porn covers a spectrum of activities ranging from actual sex with underage children to trafficking them to downloading, producing and trading child porn videos/images to inappropriate contact with children.

In a highly sexualized culture like the U.S. where it’s not uncommon to witness young girls wearing skimpy attire in public and frequent wardrobe malfunctions of entertainers and celebrities, it’s hardly surprising that a lot of adult men should weave their priapic fantasies around young children (anyone less than 18) and even seek to enact them.

Yes, the perpetrators are invariably men and the rare woman is usually a school teacher venturing to teach her young wards subjects outside the curriculum.

Her legs, her lovely live legs, were not too close together, and when my hand located what it sought, a dreamy and eerie expression, half-pleasure and half-pain, came over those childish features.
– Humbert Humbert in Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita

Is Child Porn Wrong?

Absolutely repugnant.

Child Porn is inhuman for two reasons:

* It exploits children who although physically ripe (thanks to stuffing themselves with hormone-laden American beef, poultry and milk) are still mentally raw, incapable of serious decisions like giving consent to sex or gamboling with adults in the Eden of lust.

* A society’s worth is measured by the protection it affords to the weakest of its people. America has long abandoned most of its weakest and suffering groups (homeless, mentally sick, prisoners, those lacking health insurance, the poor etc). Fortunately, children are the last vulnerable group America still considers worth protecting.

With awe and delight … I saw again her lovely indrawn abdomen where my southbound mouth had briefly paused; and those puerile hips on which I had kissed the crenulated imprint left by the band of her shorts.

Child Porn – Estimates

How do we estimate the extent of Child Porn obsession in a society where the veil is tightly drawn over unlawful stormy passions?

It’s not an easy methodological exercise even via national surveys or polls because Americans are hardly likely to be forthcoming on their sexual fantasies involving children – be they restrained to the dark recesses of their their minds, pursued online or actually enacted brazenly – because of potential legal repercussions and social sanctions should such predilections leak out.

Given the challenges of a public opinion survey, one must perforce fall back on secondary data to guesstimate the extent of Child Porn obsession in a society.

Fortunately, and despite the rampant self-censorship of cowering writers, America is still blessed with a vibrant news media. Add to this the mixed blessing of publicity-craving prosecutors and you have an opening into the dark cave of American’s forbidden passions.

One indicator of the obsession with Child Porn or sexual abuse of children is the monotonous frequency of headlines above pictures of sullen White men (occasionally Blacks too) in newspapers allegedly trapped in the web of their fatal desires.

More the headlines relating to Child Porn, one may assume more the incidence of such execrable passions in society (there are methodological hurdles with this assumption too but perhaps the hurdles may be overcome if such incidents continue to occur over a extended period across different states and that indeed seems to be the case).

It took no more than 60-minutes to stumble upon multiple headlines relating to Child Porn in the states of New Jersey and Delaware.

Despite our tiffs, despite her nastiness, despite all the fuss and faces she made, and the vulgarity, and the danger, and the horrible hopelessness of it all, I still dwelled deep in my elected paradise – a paradise whose skies were the color of hell-flames – but still a paradise.

Child Porn – Making News

American newspapers have an insatiable appetite for regurgitating prosecutors’ accounts of charges, pleas, arrests, verdicts and prison sentences related to Child Porn or any kind of inappropriate sexual activity involving children.

It’s an easy, cheap way for loss-making, struggling newspapers in the Internet era to fill up space while feeding the prurient cravings of American masses.

Here are a few Child Porn headlines, taken at random from a few American local newspapers in two states on the East Coast:

* Deputy Delaware Attorney General charged with rape of boy May 3, 2014, USA Today

It’s a rare day when America’s newspapers don’t narrate the sordid account of another man preying upon another minor girl, downloading a cache of Child Porn or heading out on a tryst with a young maiden little realizing it’s a police officer at the other end of the tempestuous, sexciting chat session.

A few years back, a naive IIT alumnus in Pennsylvania encountered a waiting posse of beefy policemen when he went armed with condoms to ravage the maidenhead of an underage girl who was in reality a police officer orchestrating a meticulous sting. Now the fellow is back in India.

This was a lone child, an absolute waif, with whom a heavy-limbed, foul-smelling adult had had strenuous intercourse three times that very morning.

Second Source – US Attorneys

Now bear in mind newspaper headlines can sometimes be erroneous.

Reporters are not infallible and despite the best effort of editors, mistakes can occur in copy.

One must always assume newspaper headlines are never indications of guilt.

Innocent people are sometimes arrested by overzealous prosecutors or desperate policemen looking for their next adrenaline rush. Computers are sometimes shared by different individuals and WiFi networks can easily be hacked by wily scoundrels scouting for prurient images of Lolitas.

Taken together, Child Porn newspaper headlines point to a trend but individually never a certainty of guilt.

So we need a second, solid method to assess extent and nature of Child Porn obsession in a society.

Here’s where U.S. Attorneys from the Department of Justice come into the picture.

U.S. Attorneys are federal prosecutors and often take the lead in prosecuting Child Porn crimes in America. Every state has one or more U.S. Attorneys. For instance, a large state like New York has four U.S. Attorneys covering different parts of the state.

Since unbridled ambition is the middle name of most U.S. Attorneys, they thrive on the oxygen of publicity and have their mouth affixed to the teat of press releases touting their (always) great accomplishments.

Given the growth of Internet connections and ceaseless monitoring of Americans by NSA, FBI, state and local police, Child Porn prosecution is a low-hanging fruit for prosecutors, cops and politicians who want to flaunt their tough-on-crime credentials to voters. There’s also the little matter of filling prison beds and keeping semi-literate yahoos as prison guards. Prisons are not only big business in America but also a big, and often the sole employer in the hinterlands of an outsourcing nation.

So a good way of gauging Child Porn obsession is to track press releases put out by the U.S. Attorneys. These press releases cover charges, and more importantly tout guilty pleas, verdicts and prison sentences involving Child Porn crimes. Again, it’s important to bear in mind that charges are not evidence of guilt. Newspapers are rife with accounts of egregious misconduct by overzealous U.S. prosecutors careless of the grief they cause innocent people.

To examine Child Porn in America, we considered four states – New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware – for the period January 1, 2014 through May 7, 2014 and sorted through the press releases of all U.S. Attorneys in these states.

By golly, there’s plenty of Child Porn press releases with enough guilty pleas to fuel the ambitions and promotions of prosecutors and police detectives and the continued employment of an army of prison guards.

I would lull and rock my lone light Lolita in my marble arms, and moan in her warm hair, and caress her at random and mutely ask her blessing, and at the peak of this human agonized selfless tenderness (with my soul actually hanging around her naked body and ready to repent), all at once, ironically, horribly, lust would swell again–and ‘oh, no,’ Lolita would say with a sigh to heaven, and the next moment the tenderness and the azure–all would be shattered.

Child Porn Cases in Delaware

Even a tiny state like Delaware, a blur on pot-hole plagued Interstate 95, had multiple cases relating to Child Porn over a four-month period.

If the spate of recent Child Porn arrests in Delaware are taken into account and if the arrestees are found guilty, Delaware prosecutors can look forward to a bountiful harvest in the coming months.

In what seems to come straight out of a Ripley’s Believe It or Not incident, Delaware’s Deputy Attorney General was so swamped by his illicit passions he yielded to his intemperate longing for the pleasures of a young boy.

Child Porn – American Obsession

The sheer number of Child Porn cases brought up by police and prosecutors with unceasing regularity, the guilty pleas and the stiff prison sentences suggest a nation struggling to rein in its fatal priapic impulses.

Given the 300-million population, we can hear naysayers sniggering and belittling our conclusions, the newspaper headlines and the convictions as insignificant footnotes in a highly moral nation.

After all, didn’t Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy among others describe America as the shining city upon a hill, the moral exemplar of the world.

We consider cases listed in the U.S. Attorneys’ web sites or newspaper reports a mere fraction of the actual incidence of Child Porn in American society, the tip of the cliched iceberg.

Why?

Because of wide publicity given to prosecution of Child Porn related cases, wily predators know there’re argus-eyed sentinels waiting to snap the handcuffs on him by snooping on his Internet surfing, or trap him in a sting by posing as a 13-year-old hot girl looking for some excitement. So such predators resort to well-publicized techniques to cover their online tracks. They use TOR, virtual private networks, encryption, underground online forums, chat rooms and clandestine social networks (both virtual and real) to pursue their Child Porn obsessions with impunity.

Prosecutions and investigations by state Attorneys General have also been out of our study. It’s fair to assume they too are working hard to unearth child predators.

We’d estimate that for every Child Porn predator caught, there must be at least 10 who get away given the ubiquity of high-speed broadband connectivity across America and knowledge of anonymizing surfing techniques.

Also, keep in mind that resources of prosecutors and police are not infinite.

So it’s safe to assume with a fair degree of certainty that for every person caught, a lot many are getting away.

Think we’re joking and such things can never be hidden in an open society?

Remember, it took several decades for the accounts of Catholic priests relentlessly, mercilessly sating their lust upon altar boys and other young children to come out. Amen.

We considered just four states and looked at them only over a period of slightly over four months. Multiply that by 12.5 (we do have 50 states) and triple the examining period to 12-months or more. Now the Child Porn picture in America does begin to look like an enduring American passion and a bestial obsession.

Child Porn obsession is now as American as Apple Pie, Hot Dogs, Baseball, iPhones, Drone Attacks, Rampant Inequality and Illegal Mass Spying.

A moment later I heard my sweetheart running up the stairs. My heart expanded with such force that it almost blotted me out. I hitched up the pants of my pajamas, flung the door open: and simultaneously Lolita arrived, in her Sunday frock, stamping, panting, and the she was in my arms, her innocent mouth melting under the ferocious pressure of dark male jaws, my palpitating darling!

Child Porn – Enduring American Passion

Beneath the glib talk of our leaders, scribblings of our writers, preachings of our church pastors and the vain fantasies of our deluded masses, America is now morally bankrupt.

Only the hopelessly naive would believe America is the “shining city upon the hill.”

Whether this moral bankruptcy, this unending lusting after young Dolores Hazes is a recent phenomenon or was America always this way – merely painting a false picture to the outside world of a moral beacon while recklessly plundering distant lands for oil, cruelly defoliating the countrysides of far-off nations with cancerous Agent Orange or Jefferson-like panting at the sight of nymphets like Sally Hemmings – who can say.

When 44-year-old Thomas Jefferson, beloved founding father and third President of America, fell upon his 14-year-old slave Sally Hemmings in an unrestrained sweating frenzy, thrusting his sceptre, scattering his seeds and despoiling her innocence, is it any surprise that successive generations of Americans should publicly take the moral high ground but privately gambol amid the sullied pastures of Child Porn.

Ladies and gentleman of the jury, the majority of sex offenders that hanker for some throbbing, sweet-moaning, physical but not necessarily coital, relation with a girl-child, are innocuous, inadequate, passive, timid strangers who merely ask the community to allow them to pursue their practically harmless, so-called aberrant behavior, their little hot wet private acts of sexual deviation without the police and society cracking down upon them. We are not sex fiends! We do not rape as good soldiers do. We are unhappy, mild, dog-eyed gentlemen, sufficiently well integrated to control our urge in the presence of adults, but ready to give years and years of life for one chance to touch a nymphet.
