iPad 3 Coming in Early 2012 with Retina Display

Apple’s next generation tablet, the iPad 3, will start shipping in early 2012.

Rumors of the iPad 3 got a big boost with today’s report in the Wall Street Journal that Apple has already ordered display panels and chips for the device.

A key enhancement in the new iPad will be higher resolution Retina Display of 2048 by 1536 compared with 1024 by 768 in the current generation iPad 2.

The display size is expected to remain at 9.7-inch.

The iPad has been a wildly successful product for Apple.

In Apple’s last fiscal quarter alone, 9.3 million iPads were sold.

Rival tablet vendors like HP, Samsung and scores of others have been floundering despite price cuts. HP pulled the plug on its TouchPad yesterday just 49 days after launch acknowledging it had failed to win consumer acceptance.

Be warned though that the iPad is a highly addictive device that will lure you away from your PC, TV and, yes, p*ssy too. 😉

You can watch live Indian TV channels screeching about Anna Hazare, delight in Shammi Kapoor prancing around in his inimitable style on YouTube on the iPad or catch a Netflix movie.

    When is iPhone 5 coming?

I searched for “iPhone 5 release” and got an information overload.. I was hoping that my beloved SI will give a good answer.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Most likely, in the fourth quarter of this year. Apple and the carriers have already started working (via discounts) to get rid of older-model inventory like iPhone 3GS.

We expect to see a better camera (8-megapixel) and a slightly different design in iPhone 5.

Worth upgrading from iPhone 3G/3GS but not from iPhone 4.

If you’re thinking iPhone 5, you should consider iPad too.

Watching Khushboo Vijayshanti throw herself in the Adikuthu Kuliru song on Rajini on Raj TV Music on iPad.

If you are referring to Adikuthu Kuliru from Mannan – it is not Kushboo, it is Vijayashanthi MP

I have a macbook air and it’s great. What’s the compelling reason to have an iPad. Is it just another apple toy for the kid inside every adult..

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Macbook is for work, iPad is for entertainment….to watch Nethu Rathiri or Asaya Kathula while lying in bed, to Skype with buddies in Canberra, watch Korean crime films from Netflix, or read 19th century books from the British Library.

Ask not what you can do with the iPad, with 90,000 dedicated apps ask what you can’t. 😉

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

You write: Can you review movies of Woody Allen..

      1. Midnight in Paris (playing now in U.S. theaters)
      2. Vicky Cristina Barcelona
      3. Match Point

Couldn’t see much of a difference between iPad and my iPad nano (iPod Touch 4) except for a bigger canvas.. Apple has to put in file system access to really call it a “Post PC device”.

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

Big, big difference between iPod Nano and iPad – Screen size (9.7-inch) and access to 90,000 dedicated apps + another 325,000 iPhone apps also work on iPad. No app support for iPod Nano.

I said iPod Touch as iPad nano.. Comprende.. 🙂
