70,000 American Jobs go Poof

Tis a bad day today if you happen to be an American worker.

Over 70,000 American jobs vanished today.

A consequenceof the current economic crisis brought about by unalloyed greed (even as senior executives spent $1.2 million on renovating their offices, executives at loss making firms get hefty bonuses as in Merrill Lynch…beyond disgusting).

Here’s the job loss count:

Caterpillar – 20,000
Pfizer – 26,000
Sprint – 8,000
Home Depot – 7,000
ING – 7,000 (worldwide)
TI – 3,400
GM – 2,000
Deere – 700

Don’t forget, so many other jobs are lost everyday across America without big announcements.

Americans are hurting. And badly.

There is no light at the end of the jobs tunnel.

Hey SI, how come you haven’t written about how Mr. Change and Hope President just appointed someone as Treasury Secretary (Timothy Geithner) who consistently but “unintentionally” forgot to pay his taxes? This guy who “unintentionally” forgot to pay his taxes is going to be in charge of finding a solution to fixing the economy?

    What can we say….Beyond disgusting.

We are seriously considering immigrating to Ushuaia, the Southern tip of Argentina or the rural parts of Uruguay. Unfortunately, they don’t show Bollywood movies there.
