Air India Maharaja Broke – No Money for Salaries, Begging for Bailout

The Maharaja is in dire straits and begging for a bailout.

Folks, Air India has run out of cash and cannot pay its employees, according to news reports coming out of India.

Instead of getting their June salaries on July 1, the employees will have to wait till July 15 to collect their pay check.

And what do they call Air India – India’s flying ambassador?

To us, India’s Begging Ambassador sounds like a better description for the ailing airline.

Have any of you flown on this airline?

We’ve never had the privilege although our family members have and are none too pleased about their experience.

I have, once in the late 90s.. my AI plane had the prettiest and very pleasant air hostesses of all the planes I have flown.. (oh wait, the jet airways chicks were very nice and pleasant too.. I am probably biased towards Indians.) So it wasn’t a bad experience for me.. Singapore girls were cute and pleasant too. Lufthansa & KLM has probably the ugliest.. probably because of their fugly costumes…

What else, other than pretty and pleasant girls, do you need in a plane.. the food sucks in every airline.. oh wait, Delta charged me 5$ for a beer in early 2008.. so they rank lower than ugly-hostess planes.. is that same trend on all airlines now?? haven’t flown since then.

Of course, of course our desi girls and desi aunties are the prettiest.

Even our grandmas are prettier than the Caucasian, Black and Hispanic grandmas.

    2. Many of the air hostesses we’ve encountered on domestic flights (in the U.S.) in recent years are middle-aged, probably because the airlines are not hiring/job sucks/poor pay/massive firing et al. They have a sullen look most of the time. Don’t blame them given what they’ve experienced in the last eight years.

Nearly 31000 employees wait for salaries. Hope Pilots don’t bang the plane somewhere, or jump out the mid-way.

By the way, don’t airhostesses in AI come in sarees?

    Hope so.

Doesn’t the ticket price include some skin-show?

What’s the use? We will continue to curse Air India while they will continue to mishandle their passengers resulting in huge losses and as usual our Indian Aviation Minister, is it Praful Patel now?, will continue giving statements to the news channels.

In India, all the news channels and politicians are only good at one thing: Making news and doing nothing to change the system. Our public will continue to be sarcastic and never try to do the needful.

Mera Bharat Mahaan (With a lot of sarcasm!!!!!!!!!!!)

    They can re-watch Anniyan.

As for us, we’re doing what we do best i.e eating – Upma-fying with Andhra Bellam Magai pickle and Deep Mango Shreekand. Ah, the sacrifices we make for the starving millions back home. 😉

Deep Mango Shreekand – Delicious but too expensive at $4.49.

AI should be shut down without any grace.. They suck big time in all departments… Leave alone flying experience…

national carriers are a must …they have been doing a great job …flying to areas where a commercial plane may no fly ….parts of Northeast for example ….of course there is scope for improvement ….which will happen
