3 Idiots Box Office – Even Dung Finds Eager Takers
3 Idiots Review – Total Garbage
Count us among the idiots.
Because it’s a cold Wednesday evening with the temperature below freezing, the roads are still an icy mess from the ravages of the weekend’s snow-storm and we’ve just driven 56km to watch 3 Idiots.
We’re already inside the theatre waiting for the movie to start.
There are about 40 desis in the movie hall.
Small crowd for the opening show but shows we’re not the only idiots around. Some consolation. 😉
The movie is said to be based on Chetan Bhagat’s crappy book Five Point Someone.
Some SI blog readers like supergirl say the movie diverges completely from the novel. Well, we’ll know in a little while to what extent the movie departs from the novel.
We’ll have the review out in a few hours.
By the way, 3 Idiots releases in India on Friday.
It might be a mixed bag.
Rediff review says, it is really funny and good in parts, while less-than-credible in some other parts.
After 1 hr 10 min, all we can say is CRAP. 🙁
Problem with reel after part 8. Or maybe it’s the intermission now.
Was there any promo/trailer of a movie called Rajneeti during the airing of 3 idiots ?
Apparently, the promo was there during some earlier screenings, and the producer of 3 idiots (Vidhu Vinod Chopra) felt that the powerful promo of Rajneeti was sort of derailing the mood of the audience, and making it hard to get their minds back on 3 idiots.
So he removed it.
Rajneeti is made by Prakash Jha, who has earlier directed hard hitting movies like Mrityudand, Gangajal and Apaharan.
Rajneeti stars Nana Patekar, Naseeruddeen Shah, Manoj Bajpai, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif.
Dont miss it if it releases in your area.
In fact, if possible, review Gangajal also.
1. You write above: Was there any promo/trailer of a movie called Rajneeti during the airing of 3 idiots ?
There were no previews (trailers) at all tonight.
2. You write: In fact, if possible, review Gangajal also.
We watched (but did not review) Gangaajal on DVD in March 2008 based on the recommendation of SI blog reader Ajayrocks. This is what we wrote on March 17, 2008 in response to a comment by Ajayrocks:
Here is trailer of most awaited Bollywood movie – My Name is Khan.
As for Three Idiots it is not getting great reviews from Indian critics. So I will miss it.
1. 3 Idiots is a piece of shit.
2. You write: Here is trailer of most awaited Bollywood movie – My Name is Khan.
Aren’t you missing a ‘t’ in the title. Shouldn’t it be My Name is Khan’t…Just checking? 😉
Seen the trailer earlier.
