Watching Sherlock Holmes

Boy, full house for the movie. Sitting in front row.

* We love detective Sherlock Holmes.

* We love Robert Downey, Jr.

* We love Guy Ritchie.

* We love the cheap Super Bargain Matinee shows ($6.00).

So, why then should you schmucks be surprised that we are in the theatre waiting for Guy ‘Mr. Ex-Madonna’ Ritchie’s take on Sherlock Holmes to start.

Yes, we’ve seen the preview of this film on more than one occasion and liked it too.

Sure looked like a different Sherlock Holmes story.

We’ll have the review of this film up later tonight or tomorrow.

Loved Ritchie’s Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels…

We’ll put up the Sherlock Holmes review today.

Got drunk after coming home last night (Skyy Vodka, we recommend it).

Looking forward to your review as well. Not sure Guy deserves the hype as a film maker. Mathew Vaughan his collaborator in Lock, Stock and Snatch made a superior crime caper Layer-cake after they split up.
You might want to look forward to Vaughan’s new movie ‘Kick-Ass’ coming in spring based on one of the best comic book series in recent times.

We’d have had the review up by now if we were not playing with Bacchus.

Movie is decent..typical Guy Ritchie fare..frenetic action, crisp dialogs….

Just checked out the Wiki profile of Kick-Ass…looks interesting. Will watch.

Saw the previews of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (Nicolas Cage) yesterday. Looked interesting. July release.

What is the name of the movie – “Sherlock Holmes”? Which of the novels it is based on?

    You don’t like Hercule Poirot?

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. The name of the movie is Sherlock Holmes…no prefixes or suffixes.

Doubt it’s based on any single novel although it could be a portmanteau of several Holmes’ stories.

    2. You write: You don’t like Hercule Poirot?

    We like Hercule Poirot.

In our salad days, we read quite a few Poirot novels by Agatha Christie.
