SI Reads Quran 4 – Allah, Spiritual Father of Stalin

Statutory Warning: All Religions are Equally Stupid

Heaven forbid that Islam should ever extend its sway beyond the religion’s present borders and take the reins of power in new territories.

After reading six Suras and nearly a 100 pages of the Quran, it’s safe to predict that should Islam spread its tentacles to more countries the prospect of freedom would immensely diminish and man’s life on this planet turn infinitely bleaker.

For Allah is the spiritual father of Joseph Stalin.

An uncompromising dictator with scant regard, nay a maniacal disdain, for those who march to the beat of a different drummer.

Christianity, Hinduism and the other religions are no less stupid than Islam but they are less intolerant of disbelievers (to use a favorite term of Allah in the Quran).

Time and again, Allah shouts his contempt for those not receptive to the clarion call of Islam:

Those who reject faith and deny Our revelations will inhabit the blazing fire. (Sura 5, Aya 10)

Blazing fire of a modern-day Lubyanka?

While the skeptics may sneer at our dire prognostications, all we implore of them is turn to the countries where Islam’s writ runs large today. Public worship of any religion except Islam is explicitly forbidden under threat of dire punishment, women are forced to veil their faces, the Mullahs lord over the sheep and the ‘revelations’ of ‘God’ to an illiterate in the seventh century is the supreme arbiter of life and liberty.

If that doesn’t give you the creeps, we don’t know what else will.

Again and again, we find examples of intolerance to those of other faiths right in the pages of the Quran:

We also took a pledge from those who say, ‘We are Christians,’ but they too forgot some of what they were told to remember, so We stirred up enmity and hatred among them until the Day of Resurrection, when God [i.e. Allah] will tell them what they have done. (Sura 5, Aya 14)

Stirred up enmity and hatred?

Is this the voice of God or that of a vainglorious mortal?

Also, there is an unseemly fixation with power in one who claims divinity and supposedly occupies the high ground by that claim:

Control of the heavens and earth and all that is between them belongs to God: He creates whatever He will. God has power over everything….He punishes whoever He will and forgives whoever He will. (Sura 5, Aya 17 and Aya 40)

Need more evidence of the violent threats in the Quran against the disbelievers?

Read on, dear schmucks:

Those  who wage war against God [Allah] and his Messenger and strive to spread corruption in the land should be punished by death, crucifixion, the amputation of an alternate hand and foot or banishment from the land: a disgrace for them in this world, and then a terrible punishment in the Hereafter, (Sura 5 Aya 33)

In the Islamic weltanschauung as outlined in the Quran, there’s little scope for contrary views.

If you are not with God (Allah), you are against God (Allah).

It’s Allah’s way (Islam) or the highway:

Those who turn for protection to God, His Messenger and the believers [are God’s party]: god’s party is sure to triumph. (Sura 5, Aya 56)

By this time, even the dumbest of our dumb readers have figured out that dissent is a word missing in Allah’s lexicon:

Those people who say God is the third of three are defying [the truth]: there is only One God. If they persist in what they are saying, a painful punishment will afflict those of them who persist. (Sura 5, Aya 73)

If you are still in the mood for fiery threats from Allah, read this:

Those who reject the truth and deny Our messages will be the inhabitants of Hellfire. (Sura 5 Aya 86)

Hellfire, yeah, a hellfire on Earth is what awaits the disbelievers should Islam’s sway extend to new frontiers.

Living in Qatar, a moderate Islamic Nation, many christians and hindus gather at a particular place, like a cultural centre for worship and call it church or temple.

We are not allowed to publicly practise our religion here, but still much better than some other strict Islamic nations. Responds:

You write above: Living in Qatar, a moderate Islamic Nation….We are not allowed to publicly practise our religion here

Ha ha ha. A ‘moderate Islamic Nation’ but you can’t engage in public stupidity (worship of non-Islam religions).

Guess, they have a different definition of ‘moderate’ in the Islamic world! 🙁

ok. even if quran has some horrifying verses, what i don’t understand is why muslims are so devoted to it? a majority of them does not miss prayers on fridays, they fast during ramzan etc.
many hindus don’t care if they take meat on tuesday or booze on holy days (i myself have drunk on sankranti, shiv ratri etc n i know many who do it) what makes them to be so loyal to their religion? what are we missing? Responds:

    1. Unlike with other religions, Quran’s sway extends to all aspects of the life of its adherents.

There’s no such thing as a separate religious compartment in Islam like with the Hindus.

    2. You write: what are we missing?

    Khitan? 😉

“We are not allowed to publicly practise our religion here”

Isn’t it ironic that Muslims play the victim in secular and liberal societies, where they are in minority and yet granted the right to freely practice their religion? It’ll take eons for scientific enlightenment to occur from within in Islam. Its masses are way too dumb and quick to anger against criticism. Responds:

You write: It’ll take eons for scientific enlightenment to occur from within in Islam

    Ain’t gonna happen. Ever.

One interesting stance of the Quran states, Sura 4 Aya 34
“Men are superior to women on account of the qualities with which God has gifted the one above the other, and on account of the outlay they make from their substance for them. Virtuous women are obedient, careful, during the husband’s absence, because God has of them been careful. But chide those for whose refractoriness you have cause to fear; remove them into beds apart, and scourge them: but if they are obedient to you, then seek not occasion against them: verily, God is High, Great!” – Rodwell’s translation.

Most other translations give a similar account. Verily a feminist indeed. Responds:

We had cited part of the Aya 34 from Sura 4 in Part 3 of SI Reads the Quran – SI Reads Quran -3; Allah No Bra-Burning Feminist.

If you fear high-handedness from your wives, remind them [of the teachings of God], then ignore them when you go to bed, then hit them. (Sura 4, Aya 34)

      My bad.

Your “Quran-bashyam” coupled with Bacardi made me miss that one.
However any time you point this to a “secular” or “progressive” Islamist they would claim the historical context of those times being the reasons why those statements are oppressive.
But most of the Islamist nations till today follow those principles. Responds:

The historical context of the Quran’s origins are irrelevant because it’s for all time.

Again, look at the Republicans and their allies on the Supreme Court here for guidance. They want the country to be run as per the founding fathers’ prescriptions in the constitution. No matter that parchment is two centuries plus old and there were a lot of things the founding fathers could not even visualize.

We had promised ourselves that we would stay away from our cheap Gilbey’s Gin today but after seeing your Bacardi reference felt compelled to go down and pour ourselves a large one. 😉

Now I know why some professor from Alberta said that “Muslims will always be oppressive majority and turbulent minority” Responds:

As we’ve said often, Muslims are like the Republican Party in the U.S. Both represent only one constituency

Republicans represent the interests of Rich White folks while Muslims are concerned solely with the welfare of Muslims.

We share similar views about religion.

All religions are equally stupid 😛

I can’t figure out why the hell people engage in mindless violence in the name of God and religion.

    BS. Responds:

You write above: I can’t figure out why the hell people engage in mindless violence in the name of God and religion.

Because most humans are stupid, evil and just a few degrees of separation from beasts.

Shuaib, may I ask your opinion about these controversial portions in the Quran?

It’s probably not a good idea (because you are in a not-so-friendly-to-disbelievers country) for you to use your own name if you want disapprove somethings in the Quran.. you can probably register with a new name and give us hints that you are Shuaib. Responds:

You write: you can probably register with a new name and give us hints that you are Shuaib.

Yes, he can even register as HindusGandus. 😉

Latest News: Two Sikhs have been beheaded in Pakistan by Taliban for refusing to convert to the Religion of Peace. Responds:

We thought the primary reason for the beheading was the failure to pay ransom.

  9. sam   February 22, 2010 at 11:04 pm

Maybe, but as revealed by victim’s brother, refusal to convert was the main motive.

Offtopic: Barack Obama is gonna attend a very important meeting on Thursday with Republicans and give them one last chance to come out with some alternative option on Health Care. (To prove their stupidity, permanently!)

Why dont you guys update more on him? He is one guy you can be proud of, unlike any in India! Responds:

    1. Early accounts of the beheadings had only ransom as the primary/only reason.

This conversion twist seems to be an after-thought. Not that the Taliban wouldn’t be happy with the conversions but money appears to be the main motive in this instance.

    2. We are skeptical anything substantial will come out of these healthcare talks planned for Thursday.

Obama made one crucial mistake with healthcare reforms. He shouldn’t have left it to simmer on the pot for 11 months allowing solid resistance to build up by vested interests of all kinds….Ideally, it should have been completed by August/September.

Now, we fear it’s too late and even if anything passes it’ll be a watered-down bill.

There is a lesson here for all rulers hoping to bring about significant change. You need to consult a Machiavelli like us. 😉

Kiddo, the verses we’ve cited here have all been taken verbatim from the Quran.

Be specific if you want to be taken seriously.
