Sweet, Sweet Words – Bail Denied; Today Kanimozhi, Tomorrow Azhagiri?

DMK leader M.Karunanidhi suffered another defeat with his daughter Kanimozhi’s request for bail being denied and an order for her arrest issued.

Kanimozhi, also a DMK Member of Parliament, will be transported to Tihar jail where her buddy former Telecom Minister A.Raja has been cooling his heels for several weeks.

Kanimozhi has been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

In what are the sweetest words we’ve heard in a long time, CBI Special Judge O.P.Saini ruled today:

The bail applications are dismissed. Both the accused be taken into custody forthwith.

Kanimozhi has been caught up in the massive 2G scandal swirling around DMK politicians.

The DMK-owned Kaliagnar TV, in which Kanimozhi owns 20% of the equity, received Rs 200 crore from Dynamix Realty after telecom spectrum allotment by A.Raja. India’s investigating agency CBI has alleged the money was a bribe for the spectrum allotment, which by the way caused tremendous loss to the nation.

Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar is the second person whose bail application was rejected today.

Judge Saini also said:

Considering the magnitude of the crime, nature and enormity of the allegations, character of evidence on record and the apprehension that the witnesses may be influenced in case the accused are released on bail, I have no hesitation in holding that both applicants/accused have failed to make out a prima facie case for bail. Bail applications are without merit and the same are dismissed

Azhagiri Tomorrow?

Unfortunately, Karunanidhi’s son M.K.Azhagiri still remains free.

Azhagiri’s thugs attacked the offices of Dinakaran newspaper in Madurai (on May 9, 2007) causing the death of a bunch of innocent workers after an unflattering opinion poll on Azhagiri was published.

Azhagiri deserves to rot in jail.

Here’s what a report in Indian newspaper DNA said regarding the violent attack on Dinakaran’s office:

The Sun Network, which runs the Dinakaran daily, on Wednesday accused M K Azhagiri, elder son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, as being the main culprit behind the attack on the offices of its paper here.

The Chief Operating Officer of the network R M Ramesh told reporters here that ‘Azhagiri has been named the main accused in the complaint given by the company to police.’

Public revulsion over the scandals involving DMK leaders was the main reason the party lost badly in the recent elections to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.

Kanimozhi arrested *jumps in joy* Tomorrow Azhagiri *fingers crossed* followed by Karunanidhi and the rest of the family….

2011 is quite an eventful year imo. Lots of positives 🙂
    (except Japan earthquakes 🙁 )

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Yes, but let’s not forget that the DMK swines have looted so much money that they still retain the power to inflict great damage.

    Power corrupts. Money corrupts absolutely.

One of my friends, who hails from Madurai told me that Madurai is Azhagiri’s fortress, when we were talking about who would come to power this time. He talked about the various atrocities that prevailed and the people doing nothing about it. Well, they proved him wrong. Azhagiri got kicked in the a** this time. The people have had enough of the DMK rule.

While this is good news, just imagine if the DMK had come to power this time too. Unlikely that the bail plea would have been rejected. Btw, it was 1.76 LAKH crore that was looted. Why is it that only Kanimozhi is being arrested? Definitely the kelavan(old man) would have had a fair share of the loot. If you ask me, I’d say that the father should follow his daughter.

And do you know about the comments made by Kushboo after the election results came out? She said that it was not the DMK that lost, but the people of Tamil Nadu and that the people would realize their folly when time passes. Unfu*kingbelievable!

Ha ha ha. Does anybody even give a flying f*ck what that moth-eaten, stupid, fat cow thinks!

These kushboos and badhboos don’t mean a thing. One sneeze and they would switch parties for a few suitcases.

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

That clowns like Khushboo and that other fatso Jyothika should find a comfortable haven in Tamil Nadu is a sign of the decay of Tamil culture. As we’ve said often, we’ll forever be grateful to Surya for getting that fat lump Jyothika off the screen.

Your Take on Obama’s Big Mideast Speech? These news guys analyse each n every word of the President, seriously.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

We have read his speech carefully and completely.

Having watched Democracy in action over several decades across continents, we do not believe people should govern themselves because most human beings are deeply flawed.

In our view, the best form of government should be a Singapore model of government that we’ll call Guided Democracy. Any other form of government is either chaos or a sham democracy where some people enjoy most of the spoils of power, pelf and property under the garb of democracy.

Coming to Obama, frequently his lofty speeches are not matched by decisive actions on the ground. He’s by nature an incrementalist not one determined to completely alter the status quo in any arena.

Also, unless we drastically reduce our dependence on oil through large-scale public transportation projects, it’s hard for the U.S. to catalyze any meaningful change in the Middle East. Notwithstanding high-sounding rhetoric, the U.S. will be forced to support regimes like Saudi Arabia that accounted for the majority of the 9/11 terrorists.

Finally, remember that the military-industrial complex here, which is one of the few successful industries we’ve left thrives and prospers on instability and war. They’re a powerful force and unlikely to be pleased with prospects for peace and stability anywhere. Let’s not forget Ike Eisenhower’s warning on the military-industrial complex just before he left office.

Bottom line, we do not expect much change on the ground, the President’s speech notwithstanding. The hiatus between the lofty rhetoric of change and the grim reality on the ground is too vast to be bridged by a bureaucratic leader like Obama.

And what about Karunanidhi? He has been a more senior politician and I don’t think relative newcomers of the party(Kanimozhi,Raja) will be involved in the scam, without the blessings of the Patriarch!

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

You write: And what about Karunanidhi?

The best punishment for Karunanidhi is to confiscate his special wheel-chair. 😉

    • Naveen   May 23, 2011 at 4:35 pm

… or maybe light a small fire under his wheel chair.

Do u know the headlines at TOI today?

Kanimozhi’s Tihar troubles- Heat, toilet, mosquitoes. I dont care man. Let her go to hell!

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

They should remove her from the special cell and put her with the general population.

    • boopalanj   May 22, 2011 at 1:55 pm

You and another 60 million population of tamils (including her step-bros) too do not care about it.

We’re not sure if the trial would bring the money back. But already enough damage has been done to her reputation (including that of the party she belongs to, because of which her father is jobless now.) due to the investigations.

In any political ground, a dark spot such as this on one’s career, sticks forever. And, that will make any politicians to think twice to get involved in a large-scale scam.

I wish, Kanimozhi faces a life-term sentence, Azhagiri faces another on – Dinakaran and Tha.Kirutinan cases, and Stalin loses his importance as a leader.

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

You write: I wish, Kanimozhi faces a life-term sentence, Azhagiri faces another on – Dinakaran and Tha.Kirutinan cases, and Stalin loses his importance as a leader.

Your wishes depend on how Jayalalithaa’s administration functions.

If Jaya’s new government is as bad as her previous one, we might see the return of the DMK for there is no alternative given that Congress and BJP are irrelevant in Tamil Nadu.

      • boopalanj   May 22, 2011 at 2:55 pm

Jaya’s last term was not so bad as this one (anything would be better when compared to DMK’s last term, even though there were few good things they did.).

Assuming MuKa wont be there for his next term (at least in politics) after five years, the party would see two groups split under each of its bigger rival leaders – Stalin and Azhagiri which thus would weaken it. [Some miracle should happen for DMK to get re-united under one leader]

By then, there are chances that Vijayakanth’s DMDK may emerge as a strong alternative – given that it goes to join hands with Left, MDMK and the likes.

Just was reading an article on Apartheid (South Africa) and thought of sharing this piece.

“The first of the “White Bans” occurred in 1971 when the Chairman of the Australian Cricketing Association, Don Bradman flew to South Africa to meet with the South African Prime Minister John Vorster. The Prime Minister had expected Bradman to allow the tour of the Australian cricket team to go ahead, but things became heated after Bradman asked why black sportsmen were not allowed to play cricket. Vorster stated that blacks were intellectually inferior and had no finesse for the game. Bradman thinking this ignorant and repugnant, asked Vorster if he had heard of a man named Garry Sobers. On his return to Australia, Bradman released a one sentence statement…

“We will not play them until they choose a team on a non-racist basis.”

In South Africa, Vorster vented his anger publicly against Bradman, while the African National Congress rejoiced.”

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

If it were not for the lack of support from conservative swines like Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher for sanctions against the then racist regime of South Africa, the abhorrent practice of apartheid would have ended earlier.

This morning, a newly sworn-in ADMK minister (Mariyam Pichai) died in a road accident. He won the election contesting against DMK’s K.N.Nehru (who was a last term’s Road Transportation Minister.) Car Driver escaped without any injuries.

Some speculate that there may be a conspiracy behind this.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Considering AIADMK won 150 seats, how would killing one or two help DMK?

    • shadowfax_arbit   May 23, 2011 at 11:16 am

      That’s really sad news.

Apparently KN Nehru amassed so much wealth during the DMK regime (illegally), that he rightfully got routed by this guy.

  10. Naveen   May 23, 2011 at 4:39 pm

Azhagiri should be punished on his terms… the rules of the jungle. Tax payers hard earned money should not be wasted by holding him in prison and feeding him chettinad varuval.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

That is a buffoon who can speak neither Hindi nor English is a Cabinet Minister at the center is a sad reflection on Indian polity.
