No sooner did Apple announce the Find My iPhone feature than we realized there would be some interesting stories around it sooner rather than later.

Only, we didn’t realize it would be this soon.

Read the below blog post:

* Find My iPhone works, and it is awesome (that’s the exact title and, no, we’ve no idea if the account is true)

By the way, the above post achieved its 60 seconds of fame after being Slashdotted.

Also, read the comments on Slashdot. Some of them are really funny, ghetto humor (literally and figuratively).

Every entrepreneur is a Steve Jobs wannabe. I was as guilty of that as anybody.

Here are some of the movies we plan on watching over the next 7 to 10 days.

Revolutionary Road (English) – Just picked up this free rental (thank you, RedBox) featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

Death Note (Japanese) – We’re getting this movie (by the way, this is the non-anime version) tomorrow from Netflix. Directed by Shusuke Kaneko, Death Note is said to be an eerie thriller. We’ll see. You can read more about Death Note on Wiki.

Double Indemnity (English) – We’ll watch this old Billy Wilder movie on Netflix Instant Play. Double Indemnity is being preserved in the U.S. National Film Registry for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” (source: Wiki).

New York (Hindi) – A upcoming Bollywood film from Yash Raj Films featuring John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh and the classy Irrfan Khan.

Machakaran (Tamil) – Featuring Jeevan and Kamna Jethmalani. It must have been really hot the other day on Oak Tree Road in New Jersey. Why else would we splurge $12.99 on buying the Machakaran and Ananda Thandavam DVD.

In the last 300 years, India has suffered maximum pain on account of two reasons.

The first cause is, of course, the advent of the British who pillaged and plundered the country for several centuries.

Just as Indians heaved a sigh of relief in 1947 after flinging away the yoke of colonialism following a long struggle, India’s second calamity started.

Indeed, the seeds of India’s second tragedy were sown several years earlier but flowered in the second half of 1947.

If you still haven’t guessed, India’s second tragedy turned out to be Kashmir.

Following Independence, both India and Pakistan laid claim to Kashmir but India prevailed.

India’s victory was, however, pyrrhic.

Over the last six decades, Kashmir has turned into a bloody battlefield and extracted a heavy toll for India in both human and financial terms.

Tens of thousands of lives have been lost, tens of millions of dollars lost due to the destruction of economic activities in the region because of terrorism sponsored by Pakistan and tens of millions of dollars have been spent in thwarting terrorism.

And the bloody battle rages to this day in Kashmir.

Shadow War
Our interest in the Kashmir issue rose from a paper we wrote many years ago (sadly, we’ve lost the paper now). Continue reading »
