SRK, Akshay, Hrithik, Salman Peeing in Their Undies

Say what you will about the garbage a.k.a. 3 Idiots but Aamir Khan has made chutney out of the airport buffoon Shahrukh Khan, CC2C bozo Akshay Kumar, the faux Akbar Hrithik Roshan and that flop-Khan Salman.

Akshay, SRK, Hrithik and Salman must be shivering cowering in their pajamas, gasping for breath as the size-6 boots of the midget Aamir Khan crushes them into the dust.

3 Idiots continues its amazing run at the U.S. box office.

In its second weekend here, 3 Idiots, a complete piece of trash, raked in $1.49 million at the box office.

Folks, that is un’fu**ing’believable.

Yes, $1.49 million in the second weekend for a crappy Bollywood movie!

The movie maintained its No-12 position at the U.S. box office and brought in an average gross of $11,322.

3 Idiots‘ total gross in the U.S. (as of January 3, 2010) is $4.76 million.

All ye schmucks may think what you want and the smart alecs at the SI blog may write what they want but the fact of the matter is Aamir Khan has set the box office bar so high that Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan might as well as hold up the white flag.

Here’s how thoroughly 3 Idiots has made mincemeat of other Bollywood movies in the second week at the U.S. box office:

    hi friends.

Now that 3 idiots has tasted so much success, in such a short time, what is your take on the Bhagat-kan-Chopra fight over credits.

Will That affect the popularity of the movie or will it increase the curiosity?

[Deleted because they sound like PR shit for a Bollywood star]

You must be happy for Aamir! Yes, I am saying this because the success of 3 Idiots has proved 2 facts

    1) Audience prefer to watch films only if it is based on some sort of story, even a flimsy one, such as 3 Idiots.

    2) The success of this film proves the fact that people prefer the best shit of the lot. While 3 Idiots may be no great film by any means, it is still by any measure the best film released during Christmas.

This film succeeded to a decent plotline and presence of bankable actors. Morever, it’s predecessors such as De Dana Dan, Wanted, Rocket Singh, Kurbaan, and Blue made 3 Idiots look great. Credit goes to them.

Moral of the story: To a man in a desert, even drain water seems like Nectar!

Which other Hindi film released during Christmas? We can’t recollect any competition.

You will find lots of sane desis in UK.

3 Idiots is not that huge in UK compared to USA.

We haven’t done the chart for UK. Must check the UK numbers.

  6. Aswin_Kini   January 5, 2010 at 6:11 am

Yes, there were no films released during Christmas.

I was referring to its contemporary movies such as Rocket Singh and World Cup 2011, both of them being flop shows. Actually, My Name is Khan was supposed to be released on Dec 25th, guess Shah Rukh realized that the film couldn’t even survive, let alone, compete against 3 idiots. Such is the fate of bollywood.

SRK has almost dug his own grave. He was a decent actor before he became the so-called King Khan. That’s when he started to rely on his antics rather than performances and started acting in crappy films rather than ones with strong scripts.

All SRK needs is to buy the rights of a good story from some novelist and then make it a film, more importantly, give his best performance as an actor! All said and one, this is never gonna happen.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Yes, we also think SRK is at the end-game. He’s overstayed his welcome. πŸ™

I think an all-time chart against OSO, KANK, Dhoom 2, Rab Ne.. etc. would be more approriate than including less-than-minnows like “Luck”.

Looks like Om Shanti Om had a better opening weekend than 3 Idiots. but Idiots is a “Titanic” in the second weekend.
Boxofficemojo, unfortunately doesn’t have a “bollywood” category for us to search easily.

    OSO:
    Nov 9Γ’β‚¬β€œ11 11 $1,764,131 – 114 – $15,474 $1,764,131 1
    Nov 16Γ’β‚¬β€œ18 19 $756,342 -57.1% 114 – $6,634 $2,892,773 2
    Nov 23Γ’β‚¬β€œ25 28 $274,288 -63.7% 114 – $2,406 $3,421,520 3

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

But you’ve to keep in mind that lately SRK movies (Rab ne….) have had a less than sterling time at the U.S. box office.

We’ll try to do a table later today. Aamir vs SRK, Akshay, Hrithik & Salman covering the last three years.

(Should we include Abhishek too in that list to see where the pygmy figures?) πŸ˜‰

3 Idiots seems to have made much more money than any other Indian movie, in several years.
That is a lot of money.
And what was the basis/premise for making the movie ?
A book. Right. However mediocre/crap it may be, a book called 5 Point Someone was still at the root of the movie.
Now, not only has the author of the book been conveniently palmed off with a paltry sum of Rs. 11 lakhs, his name appears nowhere in the credits.
What percentage of the above money is Rs 11 lakhs ?
It may be less that a few parts-per-million, like the permissible concentration of DDT in water etc.

The point is not about the quality of the book and that of the movie.
The point is, the movie wouldnt have been made in the first place if the book was not written.
So, even if the story of the book has been adapted after modifications, why not give due credit to the author of the book ?
I understand that story and screenplay are two different things, and while it takes effort to adapt a story to form screenplay, it certainly doesnt lessen the contribution of the book.
I guess that our Bollywood chors, after years of stealing (with impunity) from other sources, have entirely forgotten the concept of giving credit where it is due.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    We disagree with your arguments.

Chetan Bhagat got what he wanted: Rs 11-lakh (includes Rs 10-lakh in discretionary payout) and credit. He should have specified where he wanted the credit in the contract.

It’s also possible that this Chetan Bhagat vs 3 Idiots producers outburst is a publicity gimmick to keep the film and/or Chetan Bhagat in the public eye.

Remember, there’s always more than meets the eye when it comes to Indians. Nothing is ever below or above Indians. πŸ˜‰

Wow. 3 Idiots has a rating of 8.9 on IMDB based on 3000+ votes. Despite how flawed you may think the system is, that is still pretty impressive.

I would say that instead of SRK, Salman, Hrithik or Akshay peeing in their undies, you should pee in your already wet undie. 3 Idiots has broken any and every record and especially your stinky review… You called it ‘a complete piece of trash’… And that piece of trash has proven that it is very small in front of your blog and your reviews which are always negative. Your trash blog and trash reviews cannot be recycled even in the biggest and best recycling plant in the world…

Have you considered neem leaves. It might help. πŸ˜‰

Excerpt from the National Institute of Health web site:

Neem has been extensively used in Ayurveda, Unani and Homoeopathic medicine and has become a cynosure of modern medicine. Neem elaborates a vast array of biologically active compounds that are chemically diverse and structurally complex. More than 140 compounds have been isolated from different parts of neem. All parts of the neem tree- leaves, flowers, seeds, fruits, roots and bark have been used traditionally for the treatment of inflammation, infections, fever, skin diseases and dental disorders. The medicinal utilities have been described especially for neem leaf. Neem leaf and its constituents have been demonstrated to exhibit immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, antihyperglycaemic, antiulcer, antimalarial, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant, antimutagenic and anticarcinogenic properties.

    2. As we’ve said in the past, Indians get the movie they deserve. πŸ™
