iPhone App Store Hits New Milestone – 2b Downloads

App Store, Apple’s digital media application warehouse for its iPhone and iPod devices, continues to soar.

Apple is tooting its horn that downloads from its App Store now exceeds 2 billion.

The number of applications in the App Store has increased to 85,000.

App Store applications are in 20 categories including games, business, news, sports, health, reference and travel.

Here’s Apple CEO Steve Jobs blowing the trumpet:

The rate of App Store downloads continues to accelerate with users downloading a staggering two billion apps in just over a year, including more than half a billion apps this quarter alone. The App Store has reinvented what you can do with a mobile handheld device, and our users are clearly loving it.

What would we do with you? 🙂

BTW, is iPhone picking up in India?

  2. With or without you?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdlPjAJFIrw , did I cost you 99c?

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

God, won’t you let a desi quaff this cheap ($5.49) Parri Estate Southcote (2005) Dry White in peace.

With mayir-sadham oops more-sadham and Andhra Magay pickle on the side.

With or without you didn’t send a thrill down there compared to our Oruvan Oruvan purchase earlier today. 6.21min for 99 cents. Good value for money. 😉

With or Without You is $1.29 for 4.56 min. 🙁

Pondered buying Mr.Postman (Carpenters version) and L.A. International Airport. Decided against both.

  3. L.A. International Airport may be very expensive to buy.

I love With or Without you.. I, the cheap me, even own the album!
Rolling Stone magazine placed the song at #131 on their list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”.[3]

    1. Just purchased Jimi Hendrix’ Purple Haze (99-cents), #17 on Rolling Stone’s The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

The wine is going down and we’re going high!

    And Jimi Hendrix is awesome.

Purple Haze all in my brain,
lately things don’t seem the same,
actin’ funny but I don’t know why
‘scuse me while I kiss the sky….

    2. You write: L.A. International Airport may be very expensive to buy.

Susan Raye (L.A. International Airport) is also 99-cents (single track, not the album).

  4. Two of Jimi Hendrix songs are in my Guitar Hero game.. Purple Haze is of course one..

The Wind Cries Mary will also help you stay high. Great game to play when you are drunk.. accuracy is better..

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. Have already listened to Purple Haze 12 times in our stupor (make that 14 times by the time you read this).

Now, all we need is some LSD. 😉

    2. Gaming ain’t our cup of tea.

Other than mind games, we mean.

    3. You Write: The Wind Cries Mary will also help you stay high.

    No, no and no.

    No patch on Purple Haze.

We’re losing our sweet high after listening to that.
