Ultimate Shame for Indian Cinema

May 18, 2008 will forever remain a dark day in Indian cinema.

After all, this is the day when Indian cinema made an ass of itself on the world stage.

If reports are correct, today is the market screening of that Tamil horror show Billa at the Cannes Film Festival.

No one in his right mind would ever allow Billa to be screened in the official Cannes competition.

So, Billa gets screened in the market screening category, which is primarily a vehicle for business development not a stage to showcase art or talent.

Starring that non-actor Ajith Kumar, who was prancing like an Ultimate Korangu in the movie, Billa is a remake of a remake.

The law against torture and crimes against humanity should be extended to horrendous crimes like screening garbage like Billa and lowering the prestige of Indian cinema for generations to come.

I cant understand only onething why are you keep on attacking billa a quality movie which is taken to hollywood standards .it turned out to be biggest blockbuster in history of kollywood. u have created no of blogs to attack billa which has no way affected the movie.so “a lie repaeted thousand times will not become true”.donot think you are the only brilliant in world.all your claims have turned to be wrong.

ofcourse when it was screened in gray theatres everybody loved the movie and said ajit is cool and his looks are great and he looked chilled out in the movie.
so even the international audience loved the movie it is you who is criticising movie.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Ajith’s Billa is not a quality movie. It’s a piece of crap, an affront to all notions of art and entertainment.

    billa went to uktop10
    billa went to cannes
it is big blockbuster in ajiths carrear.
    it broke record of sivaji.
ajith is been praised by all bigwigs of kollyowood.
    but acording to you
ajith is kurangu.he is ultimate tallentless,he is not a good actor.he is not a big star.he is not deserved to be called as ultimate star.oh what a crap you are and call yourself as neutral reviewer.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:
You write above : Billa went to Cannes

Billa did not go to Cannes in the arts or great movies category. The folks behind Billa were just marketing this garbage there. Billa is a trashy piece of crap that must have surely caused a great deal of embarrassment to Indian cinema. Ajith can’t act if his life depends on it.

if you say ajit is a non actor then you dont know what is acting and what is charisma.just as you dont know what is reviewing a movie.so you mean that awards in india are given by fools everything with india is wrong and everything with us is fine.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Charisma? Sure, Stalin, Mussolini & Hitler also had a great deal of charisma. But none of them were any good in their job. Just as Ajith is not good in his job – acting.

  5. dilip   June 4, 2008 at 10:11 am

ya surely as you said ajit is having charisma but his charisma is not like that of hitler or mussoilini.he is having charisma like alexander, napolean or ashoka the great.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    Keep dreaming.

Now the international crowd will see how stupid film makers make movies here in India. I saw this movie first day first show. The whole movie was a comedy show. When ever there is a song and ajith starts dancing people are laughing to the core.

In a scene, prabu tries to convince him for acting as billa, and Ajith say ‘No I cant’.. at this point people in the theater are screaming ‘He himself accepts he cant act.. why are u compelling’.. oh that was hilarious

In another scene Nayanthara points a pistol on ajith’s head.. I watched her finger.. was not on the trigger at all.. but on the trigger gaurd.. poor girl dont even know how to hold pistol.. and they have portraited her as Anjelina Jolie… god save this crowd..

The climax.. supposed to be a thrilling one.. but turned to be the ultimate comedy.. when they fight for the flash drive… shows how stupid is the director .. don even know basics of computer.. it wouldnt take a couple of min to copy a G of info from pen drive.. but they fight for it for days… so stupid..

also when the villain says ..’I will sue you all’.. whole crowd stood up and laughed.. funny funny funny to the core…

now cannes will see such a stupid .. pathetic movie and have a pity on tamil cinema viewers…

Save 4 a few illogical loopholes,I think Billa is a great action-thriller movie.

Moreover,it is also suffice 2 say that Billa is better than a few Hollywood movies in this genre.

U ppl at SI blatantly & moronically criticized Ajith.K without giving ample proof 2 support ur statement.

Ajith certainly executed the dual roles with finesse & ease.

SI can’t hold a candle to Ajith Kumar fantastic on screen presence.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

You write: Ajith certainly executed the dual roles with finesse & ease.

Finesse is not a word in Ajith’s lexicon. I fell off the chair after seeing his effete attempt at effecting a swagger in his walk.

If Ajith heard you, he’d laugh at your plight since he’s known to be a straightforward bloke.
