Luck’s Misery Endures at U.S. Box Office – Down 91.5%

OMG, what a fall.

Bollywood crap-show Luck has tumbled 91.5% in its second weekend at the U.S. box office (please see Luck’s opening weekend U.S. box office performance here).

Luck came in at No-71 for the July 31-August 2 weekend with a total gross of $9,530 and average gross of $397.

As of August 2, 2009, Luck had done $149,333 at the U.S. box office, according to boxofficemojo.

Here’s how Luck fared compared to a few other prominent Bollywood movies in the second weekend at the U.S. box office:

and btw, don’t these ranking at the BO have smtg to do with the no. of theaters they open in?

True but keep in mind that the theatre count for a Bollywood film here depends on distributor expectations for the movie and count shouldn’t go down significantly for the second week if the movie has a decent run in the first week.

In the case of Luck, it opened in 45 theatres and slid to 24 in the second weekend.

Average was $2,496 in opening weekend (45 theatres) and $397 in second weekend (24 theatres).

Any way you look at it, Luck is a disaster.
