Revenge is Sweet; India Whips Bangladesh into Submission

You schmucks can say what you want but Revenge is Sweet.

India inflicted a crushing defeat on Bangladesh today in the opening match of the 2011 ICC World Cup.

Final Score:
India: 370-4
Bangladesh: 283-9

Fitting payback for the defeat India suffered at the hands of Bangladesh in the 2007 World Cup.

Virender Sehwag did an awesome job for India today with a dazzling 175.

Sehwag richly deserved the Man of the Match award.

Let’s not forget Virat Kohli who followed up with an impressive 100.

India’s 370-4 was a challenging score for the best of teams to match.

The Bangladesh batsmen were nowhere in India’s league and could manage only 283-9 ending in a defeat of 87 runs

Indian right-arm fast medium-pace bowler Sreesanth came in for severe punishment early on from the Bangladesh batsmen and gave us some anxious moments.

But Munaf Patel, Harbajan Singh and Zaheer Khan kept up the pressure on the Bangladesh batsmen restricting them to singles and twos.

Few Boundaries and Sixes came from Bangladesh batsmen.

At the end of the day, Bangladesh got its balls crushed by their stronger Indian neighbors. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now, if you schmucks will excuse us we’re gonna go out and get some Arrogant Bastard Beer to celebrate. ๐Ÿ˜‰

But anyhow, 283 is not a bad score for Bangladesh! For a sweeter revenge, India should have got them down before, say 200??

We guess from that “showing up” on the ground perspective Bangladesh did well today. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It’s wonderful to see someone like SI being so appreciative of an Indian win against a minnow.

I am eagerly waiting to see if India can take Revenge on
      1) Australia for humiliating them in the 2003 World Cup Final
      2) Sri Lanka for hitting the final nail on India’s coffin in the 2007 World Cup league game (India had to win their last league match to qualify)
      3) England for knocking them out of the T20 World Cup two years back ๐Ÿ˜‰

Pointless argument, isn’t it. To be short, let’s wait for the real picture to begin.

If India does qualify for the semis with this weak bowling attack, it will be their first victory. But to do that, India have to beat a set of great teams: South Africa, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and England. How they’ll be able to do that with this WEAK bowling attack remains to be a mystery.

If India does win the Semis and enter the finals. That itself would be an achievement, considering the pressure.

My eternal wish has been to see this headline “India win the 2011 World Cup beating XXXX team” or something like “India create History, win World Cup” or something like “Dhoni’s tigers lift the World Cup”.

Let’s see how the Indian team does. Hopefully, SI will have more and more posts of Indian wins.
Until then, let the show go on.

      SearchIndia.com Responds:

Who knows. India might do the seemingly impossible this time.

With your permission, SI will now go back to ogling at the three desi gals in the State Farm insurance ad on TV.

Yes, revenge is sweet. Finally, I am happy to see Sehwag hit a match winning hundred. But let’s not be overly optimistic.
The real test is yet to begin, India are still 8 games away from a World Cup victory. If they desire to get anyway near the finals, they would need several great batting performances like this from the Indian top order. Watch out for Kohli, Yusuf, and maybe Yuvraj??

And I hope that India thrash Australia, Pakistan, and South Africa too…..
    Cheers!

We missed the first two hours (couldn’t see Tendulkar & Gambhir play) due to some problems with Willow.

Maybe, we should organize some Homam for India to win. Some people must be doing it already in India.

Nice one. But I guess it’s really not possible. I am neither on your Gtalk contact nor on your FB list ๐Ÿ™‚

Jokes Apart, who do you think are the favorites to win the WC. Do you think the Indian team is too overrated?

Sweetie, if we didn’t proactively monitor who was logged on at any point the SI blog would have collapsed long ago considering the relentless attacks we face. You folks have no idea how massively the SI blog is attacked.

      2. Who are the favorites? Impossible for sane minds to predict.

On a good day, any team can win.

Who’d have thought Zimbabwe would come close to victory in 1983 against India.

Did you get the Roku working finally.. I’m planning to go the free streaming route.. My neighbor has the Dish network package and has given me open invitation.. but I am planning to use it only for the QF, SF and F and maybe Ind-Pak.

The other site I was mentioning about that was charging 30$ has been shutdown.. Don’t know how many cheap bastards got screwed.

As we said the other day, Willow is the best option.

    2. After the initial 2-hour snafu, Willow was smooth sailing on PC/web.

We were too scared of logging out on PC/web and checking Roku/TV just in case we couldn’t log in again. This means we couldn’t check out Roku again later (i.e. after the initial problems).

Regarding your Harbajan YouTube video (above), some Indians, of course, are notorious racists.

We don’t know what ads you see in India during the current World Cup matches. But some of the matrimony ads we see in the U.S. are racist (against Whites).
